Both my kids have/are attending Lincoln Elementary. School leadership and teachers are exceptionally kind, compassionate, skilled and inclusive. My kids love the school, engagement events and its location. Alumni and the community support our school because it is that special of a place to learn!

I can’t say enough good things about this school. Every teacher we have had has been amazing. The principal works tirelessly to make the school a safe place free from bullying and the parent community is strong, diverse and cares about their kids deeply.

This is the second year for my daughter to be with Lincoln Elementary School. She has improved so much in all aspects, especially in her social skills. I am grateful that she is with Lincoln Elementary School where she is loved, cared for and taught. Lincoln Elementary School is one of the top 10 schools throughtout OUSD elementary schools where it maintains the most efficient school team members to provide supports to its students and community.

My older son graduated from Lincoln two years ago. I have to admit that this school prepared him so well and built a good foundation for him in middle school. I greatly appreciated all the teachers that he had at Lincoln Elementary School. Now my younger son is following his older brother footsteps and doing great in 2nd grade. I highly recommend Lincoln Elementary School. Thank you to all the amazing teachers!

My son just finished kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary, and I feel so fortunate to be part of this school community. From teachers to administrators to parents and community partners, I know he's part of a community that is passionate about learning and making a difference here in downtown Oakland and beyond.

Lincoln Elementary has been an excellent school for our boys to attend. The school is a gem in Oakland, in the heart of the Town, and aspires to be a neighborhood hub bringing students, parents, teachers, staff and administrators together to make a positive difference in our broader community.

Strong focus on academics. My 5 year old in TK is already ready for 1st grade level reading. My 1st grader is already doing 2nd grade level work. Good teachers, active parents, and good kids = great school.

3/5 kindergarten classrooms are ESL, >80% are on free or reduced price lunches with 200 families receiving a bag of groceries per week, all kids receive a free breakfast and some get dinner. We're middle class and are wealthy in comparison. With these disadvantages, we have the highest math scores and fourth highest English in Oakland and up there with wealthy suburban schools. Our secrets? Expect a lot of homework from excellent teachers. STRONG family involvement with a strong work ethic. We have a newly expanded and renovated campus. The only negative is a largely homogenous population, a function of the 2 Cantonese to English ESL classrooms and the school being in the heart of Oakland's Chinatown. The English competent classrooms are more diverse. Our principal is new so I don't have much to add about her but the transition to the Common Core is going smoothly, which reflecrs well on her leadership.

This is an incredible public school. Great academics. This school can boast excellent hard working knowledgeable teachers and staff, supportive parents and community and in general a great well behaved student body. What a hidden gem we are lucky to have here in Oakland.
