Minarets make sure to have everyone feel like they belong and are part of the school the best experience you could have is to join a sport or club and don't be shy everyone there is friendly they may not look or sound friendly but once you engage with people more it becomes so easy and fast to knowing everyone. All the teachers are amazing they don't even feel like teachers they feel like friends so it makes the classroom very easy to communicate and work although some may be harsh once you get everything done they are so sweet. I love how Minarets has a block schedule it makes school so much easier especially with more than an hour to do our homework is so peaceful especially if you do sports cause most of the time you won't be getting home till 8 or 9 pm so it relieves stress as long as your focused and have everything done this school is literally the easiest and they collaborate with so many good colleges and the counselors are amazing and know how to do their jobs right to help guide you to your success.

We commute 1 1/2 hrs round trip twice every school day to ensure our child can attend. In our mountain communities there is no other school that comes close in comparison to what Chawanakee/Minarets offers, and education being so important to us, it’s beyond worth it. From how much the teachers genuinely care to the overall culture of the school we are so grateful to be able to be a part of it. The programs, field trips, events, and community outpouring are amazing bonuses.

As an alumni, I can say that inclusivity is important to the staff and faculty at Minarets. Minarets has created an environment where kids can feel respected and valued for their differences. High school can often times feel cliquey, but I always felt like the students respected other students differences. Even though I haven't attended the school for years now, I am always hearing about how it is evolving, especially in the last few years.

I had the pleasure of working at Minarets High School as an intern while earning my Masters Degree in School Counseling. During my time at Minarets, I was given many opportunities for skill development while taking part in many meaningful tasks and projects alongside their excellent staff. While working/interning at Minarets, I witnessed an extremely collaborative and inclusive culture within the school for both staff and students. The school demonstrates creative measures and flexibility in order to meet the students where they are at, to instill a growth mindset and get them excited about their futures. Lastly and most importantly, I strongly believe that safety and the well-being of staff and students is the top priority at Minarets High school.

My son graduated from Minarets High School. His strength wasn’t necessarily in testing but because he was given many options through hands on learning he was able to move on to college sports and achieve a degree in Liberal Studies. He now is a successful and happy young adult.

My son attended and graduated from Minarets High School. In my opinion, the school's greatest strength is that students are not just numbers or test scores. As parents, we recognize that our child possesses unique strengths that will lead to success in today's world. Minarets fosters a culture that acknowledges individual strengths and builds the confidence needed to thrive.

I am so proud to have attended Minarets High School. I was more than prepared to present in college, speak in front of crowds and collaborate easily with coworkers. This school teaches how to truly work in the real world. The dual enrollment classes allowed me to graduate high school with a whole semester of college finished. Saving me thousands and allowing me to get my degree even quicker. The school atmosphere is homey and the staff truly care about their students and the work they produce. You are not a number at minarets. But a face and a name.

Minarets High School provided an exceptional learning environment that prioritized safety and support. The staff fostered a nurturing atmosphere, allowing me to thrive both academically and personally. I was particularly able to excel in sports, with ample opportunities for training and competition. Additionally, the school offered valuable resources for aspiring professionals, helping me develop my presentation skills at a young age. Overall, Minarets was instrumental in shaping my future, balancing rigorous academics with athletic and personal growth.

This school has its priorities mixed up putting sports ahead of academics and club activities. The district is losing money so it operates on a shoestring budget which means they can’t pay their teachers well. This leads to a revolving door of educators who come and go. The best ones don’t stay. They are left with a handful of long term teachers who ride roughshod over the administration by ignoring school policies, disregarding student accommodations, and assigning redundant busy work that has no educational value. For example, one teacher requires a daily class assignment where the students are tasked to tell him what their grade is in his class. This happens every class period for a year. The counselors make the kid’s schedules last minute and there is very little flexibility to get the classes your kid wants. Ultimately, we had to get our kid out of there and move her to another district. They too overemphasize sports, but at least they retain quality teachers, fully fund their academic programs, and have the flexibility needed to get the kids the electives they want.

My grandson is a student attending school at Minarets. The diverse offering of classes is great for students with various areas of interest. The staff are awesome and make each student feel welcome and valued. The music classes are exceptional and lots of opportunities are provided for the students to perform in different settings.

I feel like this is a great school overall. I don’t always feel like they have highly qualified teachers. Some of them have been rude or disrespectful to students and myself, especially the math teachers. Those teachers don’t general stick around. I feel like your school is safe and over all have a good environment. The bus route this year is a little long for my kid. First one picked up and last one to drop off, an hour and half total time in the bus. I feel like the communication is the best it’s been in the last 6 years of our family attending. I feel like the admin are hands on and have built relationships.

My students are excelling at this school. It is a perfect fit for them. The teachers are engaging, the technology is top-notch, and the administration is caring yet firm. Wouldn’t want my students to go to any other high school.

I love Minarets. My son has been a student since 9th grade and will be graduating this year. His counselors have been nothing but supportive all 4 years. He’s had the opportunity to take numerous college courses and the academics are excellent. I couldn’t have asked for a better school for my son.

New family at the school this year. Assimilating into the school could have gone smoother and academic support could be better. The kids enjoy it, and lot of dedicated teachers & staff, and it's a pretty safe campus. Overall, very good but had a few things keeping me from giving it 5 stars.
