My boys love this school and their teachers. They are excited daily to discuss what they learned and what their specials are. Their teachers email weekly updates and send out daily updates in their binders that the boys bring home in their backpacks. They are exposed to a multitude of cultures and lifestyles and the teachers are truly invested in their academic progress.

Handled pandemic horribly and my child didn’t even want to go there anymore.

Since changing leadership the school has moved in a positive direction. Since we’ve been at Discovery they have improved communication , culture, and routines.

We've been going to this school for the past 3 years and my girls love their teachers, classmates, and friends. There are a few leadership issues that need to be fixed and I hear they don't have the best principal-- but my girls love this school. Unfortunately we are moving and they will be leaving Discovery.

Moved to this school from another school (crossroads elementary) within the same district (about 6 months back). Have two kids and loved crossroads elementary. Discovery ridge is a very good school. I have no complaints. Haven't heard any complaints from my picky kids either. One think my kids don't enjoy is the after school care. So I pulled them out, bcos I could. It's not bad actullay....just too many kids in the program.

We moved here to this district because of all the positive things I've heard about the district. I have dealt with this school for far too long! And apparently I should have asked what schools specifically! This is NOT, I REPEAT NOT, one of those good to great ones the people I had spoken with were speaking of. If you thought you didn't like a school\district you had your child(ren) at before DONT MOVE TO THIS ONE! I can guarantee you this one is MUCH MUCH WORSE! All the other posts that are 1's also that are before mine are absolutely positively correct, and they haven't even really driven the nail fully into the wood that fully describes all that is wrong with DISCOVERY RIDGE ELEMENTARY! If you move to this specific schools area HOME SCHOOL YOUR CHILD TILL THEY REACH MIDDLE AT THE VERY LEAST INSTEAD OF HAVING THEM ATTEND HERE!

I concur with the previous contender in saying discovery ridge is a terrible school that has terrible teachers, principal, and staff and don't even deserve a one star rating

This school tried to put its best foot forward. And it's great that the principals of character, being responsible, respectful and caring is taught. However, there are some wide gaps between what the parents need, what the kids need, what the teachers need and what administration is providing. There are some really strong grade levels where the teachers work together as a team and it's apparent. If you have younger kids this is probably a good place to start the upper grade levels have some weak links that need to be addressed. We've seen so many families leave; not because they have moved but because they've had to resort to homeschooling or private schooling. It's so sad; this could be a 5-star school but it's got a long way to go.

Discovery Ridge Elementary School is an excellent school that strives to teach students to be responsible, respectful and caring leaders. Teachers put students first and take great interest in each of them as individuals.

Great school that is trying to teach kids to be responsible, respectful and caring. Leadership can only do so much without the involvement and support of the parents instilling these same principles at home.

Disorganized. Poor leadership. Bad attitudes. No accountability or monitoring of teachers. Terrible communication with parents. I could keep going but there are so many issues with this school it would take days. Poor leadership comes from the top as there is no control of teachers. Parents complain about the teachers attitudes, poor teaching skills, and class demeanor. Every system in place is a disorganized mess with no direct planning from the leaders. It's all left to the teachers who have zero experience running or planning anything. I've seen many families leave this school due to incompetent leadership, teachers with poor skills, and rude staff. It makes you want to move!
