My daughters love their teachers and staff. School is clean and safe. Principal is approachable and kind. I couldn’t have asked for a better school. My girls are excited to go to school every morning.

Horrible, horrible, horrible!! My son started here mid-year. At his last school he loved his teachers, had a ton of friends, and embraced learning and going to school every day. At Lakeland, he has had a horrible experience (8 years old and he begs me to let him stay home). My son has always done well in school and had a ton of friends. Now he has told me that his teacher openly belittles him in front of his class and when kids pick on him no one does anything. His teacher basically suggested that I medicate him because "he can't sit still". He's 8 years old!! She is a horrible teacher and needs to retire already as she is clearly projecting her own personal short comings on her students. Our first week there she met me outside and told me my son had his recesses taken a way for the rest of the week because he didn't come back to class on time after recess that day. He started crying and she seriously bend down so she was in his face and told him (right in front of me) that tears don't work on her so he can stop already then rolled her eyes and walked away. Turns out they have separate recesses for each grade- my son just came from a small school that had combined recesses for all classes. Apparently, he went to the bathroom and when he came out he saw kids playing still so he didn't realize he was supposed to be back in class. Other than that horrible teacher they are completely unorganized. When we signed up for the school I was told that a uniform was mandatory- my son is the only child I have seen wear a uniform and we have been there almost three months now. When I questioned them about this I was told uniforms are something the principle is trying to enforce but they aren't actually mandatory. So basically one more thing to sets my son apart and isolate him from the rest of his class. The only saving grace is the front desk staff and the Stone Soup afterschool program. Other than that- avoid at all costs. I am counting the days until I am able to get him approved for district transfer.

My son started Lakeland Elementary in Sept. 2014. The entire staff was very welcoming and helpful. The principal is relatively new but I always see him walking the campus, talking to staff and parents and is very knowledgeable and positive. I really love the school and the staff so far have really wonderful.

Cannot rate this school yet but please note there is a new principal whom I met and was kind enough to give me an unscheduled tour of the school.

The falling enrollment at this school is due to one thing, the incompetence of the principal. She does not care about the community, spurns any sort of parent involvement, does not meet deadlines, and sits in her office, whereas other principals would be making observations in classrooms, providing support to ALL staff members, and reaching out to community members. With the exception of one first grade teacher, who has a rotten attitude, the staff is dedicated to the success of the student first and foremost. All hope is not lost with this school, but it definitely needs a change in leadership. The move from Jersey to Paddison to Lakeland, when will the district leadership see the pattern of failure with this principal?

I really love the staff at Lakeland, but the principal however is really no good for the school. My children have been discriminated against, hit, and mistreated by other children, I've addressed these issues with most times no resolve. I've spoke with several parents who have great dislike for Mrs McIntosh, i know teachers have haven't returned due to Mrs McIntosh, as well as students not returning or didn't return due to her. I had to make several complaints before any actions were taken. Bottom line we need a new principal, if it was not for the teachers I would've removed my children. When will the district listen. There is a parent with complaints now that are not being handled properly.

WOW! Every year I pray and hope that Principal Mcintosh need a Overall standard Review. She's is not fit to run Lakeland school or any other. My son is so bless that he is no longer goes to Lakeland Elementary. But don't get me wrong the school was Superb before with a Superb Ex-principals. Except now Ms. Mcintosh- "Parents and students will voice out how terrible you run your Lakeland Elementary school now and the previous one before you got transfer to Lakeland Elementary".. Board of Education will see you someday. The Principal need to be Reminded Quote " No Child Left Behind". You Failed...Be a better Person for Once Principal Mcintosh.

Terrible principal! Complaints to the district don't work. The superintendant doesn't do anything. He needs to be better at listening to parents. It's time to go to the school board and elect new people that will take care of this problem. This principal has brought the morale of the school to its lowest. It's no wonder that parents are taking their kids out of the school. Ms. Macintosh has got to go!

When is this principal going to be gone? The superintendent is not listening, We have to go to the school board. This Macintosh does not listen or care. This is my last year because my child's in fifth grade. Thank God!
