My son with ADHD and 504 plan just graduated WO. He was there 6 years. The staff, teachers and students all knew my son. Despite his rough reputation the teachers and principle supported him and trying to make him a better citizen. Instead of focusing on just discipline they also focus on how to make the situation better for all involved. Most teachers were patient with my son and went above and beyond to support his success. Safety is a priority and they take it very seriously. My daughter is now attending and I know it's going to be a smooth next few years. The school always took my concerns serious and made an attempt to resolve any issues I had. I'm grateful for the staff here more specifically the Principle.

I do believe the teachers have great intentions for the kids, and they all are very friendly. But I believe it is the office staff that has made me feel unwelcomed. When I have came in to pick up my child early, or drop something off for him, from the principal to the secretary, they give me the feeling that I am bothering them. They are the face of the school and they make everyone feel so unwelcomed.

This year is my children's second year attending at this school and now I feel my children's are more secure than before, because in the past all parents were allowed to school grounds now you can't just get in with out sign your name in and out thru the office. Perfect! I'm very happy with the new principal.

I agree with the above poster. The new principal, I'd hoped would still be Interim, never bothered to introduce herself & doesn't seem friendly at all. She's more concerned with her title than creating a friendly atmosphere that makes parents want to be involved. Instead she locked us out of the school! The school grades were very poor to the point we received a letter stating we could change schools/district & that happened because of last year when she took over. It's more of a hostile environment. The Principal is condescending & isn't open to parent suggestion or comments. It's a shame that the district can't hire a better principal. I'd take my child out if there weren't other factors involved, but I'm seriously considering it. If you send your child there you should know you won't have a receptive Principal. You won't have a place where you can even see or talk to the teacher. You'll basically be sending your child to a prison for little kids.

The school year just started, and I was hoping for a new and better qualified principal. She is changing the school so much, but not for the better. She is not very parent friendly. The school is just a job and our children are simply a number. I hope she is only temporary, even though it will be two principals in five years. The school needs new teachers, there is only a handful of teacher qualified, likable, and modern enough for kids today. If I could afford private school, I would take my boys elsewhere!!

The kinder garden teacher is rude and has her favorites. She has little to no patience. The principal flip flops depending on who is around. The schools policy and MO make it almost impossible to get involved with your childs education unless you let them know ahead of time by calling for an appointment. They say you can volunteer to help out in class to check on your children but that is only if they don't choose someone else to be the volunteer first. You can complain but it won't do an good. They have a contract with the union.

great school with wonderful teachers, great supporting staff and parent volunteers. Very welcoming feeling and friendly atmosphere. The office staff could use a refresher course in manner and the principal might need a course in professionalism, but other then that we are very happy with our boys education at william orr.

My daughter came to this school as second choice, since Studebaker's kindergarten was over crowded. It was the best choice ever. She gained confidence through her teachers kind patient enthusiastic demeanor. She was on the Principals Honor Roll and earned 3 certificates throughout the year. It was the best way for her to begin her school experience. The teachers are great. The staff is wonderful., Parents are involved, and friendly and its a real community effort at this school. I am so pleased and proud to have found this school. It's also a Distinguished school of CA and has earned the national blue ribbon award.
