My 2 children have only been attending for 2 years now and my wife and I could not be happier. Our children are well accepted and loved my many at the school and we feel welcomed whenever we attend. Both my children have learning disabilities, including ADHD and the other is high functioning autistic. They both have grown leaps and bounds due to the care of NSES teachers, plans, and curriculum. SCORE: B

Zero stars if I could. Complete nightmare took kid who loved school and made him hate it in less than a month. Repeated calls went unanswered, teacher couldn’t even use email.

My daughter came here a bit behind due to development delays (was born premature and has some slight learning disabilities). I moved here specifically for the school district and am so glad I did. They have access to fantastic services that allow children of all abilities to strengthen in any area and in this case, my daughter received supplementary reading help (from a teacher who received Rhode Island's "Teacher of the Year" Award last year. My daughter improved drastically in her area of weakness around reading and is now caught up. I have felt that the teachers and faculty have been extremely responsive to any concerns that I have and have put forth all resources necessary to get my daughter up to speed. I see a totally different child from 2 years ago and am so happy she's in this school district. I'm very grateful.

I have two children that attend this school and they love it. The teachers are caring and attentive. My daughter was especially shy and bashful and her wonderful teacher helped her feel comfortable and welcome. I'm very impressed with every aspect of the education. I've read a few other reviews about mold and air quality. I guess there were some issues when the building was new (there was a problem with the roof.) But all of those issues have been fixed for a long time. The school is very clean and inviting. So glad we moved here!

Administrators at this schools and all North Smithfield schools use 80% of their budget for administration costs, like salary, pensions, benefits... Then cry poverty. They have NO accelerated programs and again cry its because they have no funding. Simply not true. The school will not think outside the box to come up with strategies to make it better. It is seriously like talking to a brick wall. The teachers union themselves issued a vote of no confidence in the superintendent and nothing ever happened.

This town underfunds its schools and I believe the children are being shortchanged. The school principal is not open minded and plays favorites, and many of the teaching staff members themselves lack good literacy skills. I find misspelling and errors on communications from the school.

While there are some very good teachers in this school, others are not so bright. The school lacks good administrative leadership. I have found the principal to be close minded and quite unfair at times. She doesn't always listen to all sides of a story.
