The school is great except they don't offer an after school program (it's 2012 people!) and we have had an awful time trying to find after school care in this small town. They won't bus outside the district. Otherwise the teachers are very good.

North Collins is a small school, but makes up for it with caring, dedicated teachers, an active PTA, and involved parents. (BTW, the school doors are locked for *safety*, not because they don't want parents walking in the hallway ... one would think you'd be grateful for this measure of diligence in today's society). While it's true they can't offer the same types of programs available at much larger districts, North Collins does a great job with what they have to work with. By and large, the teachers are dedicated and caring, and the administration is more accessible than you might expect. My child got a good education here and has since gone on to the high school in the same district.

This is a great school. My son has done very well and likes the teachers and staff. The school like any have some issue but then again it totally depends on the individuals involved. The whole pledge is said in the classrooms just not over the PA system. Also the security measures are needed in this day and age of family disputes over custody and other issues. Parents do not need to be walking distrubing the classes without being announced. I'm at the school a lot and if you follow the procedure no issues getting in or around the school. It is also great thatthe staff knows most of the parents by name and will greet you.

I am very upset that this school does not see fit to recite the entire Pledge at the start of each school day. Our children are not being taught good citizenship. For the school to take this stand is an indication of just how far removed we are in realizing just what being an American means. No stars for this school.
