My family has been in this school for a long time since my oldest brother was out into it. I will agree with the people that the principal is terrible, but the students and the teachers are great. It is a shame to see the school close, but the legacy will go on. And to everybody who says the school is terrible I just want you to look at the people who have come out of the school in the last 10 years. Ian Giles, he goes to Berkeley, which is one of the best music schools in the country. Katie Stang, who is currently at brokport and wants to help special needs kids. Dylan Sager who is going to the universtity of Georgia for cognitive science. Trevor Greco, who has the highest average in his sophmore class at Gowanda central, and there are so many more people. So don't you dare try to tell me that this school isn't good, it is the best school I have ever known and I cried for about 2 hours straight when I heard it was closing.

The largest financial stakeholders in the school have no conscience. Publicly, things look good, but privately, beware. Staff and faculty have been forced out for no good reasons. Everyone has to answer to the large financial stakeholders, go along, and maintain a good image, or they're out too. Don't get involved with this school or school community. There are better places.

Serving in the Catholic tradition is a fallacy here. The best people are treated horribly and have already left. This is not a school. It is a pet project of many very wealthy people who do not uphold morals, ethics, or professionalism. After 60 years, my family can attest to that. Do not subject your children to the whims of people whose money and influence are more important than people. To them, all people except themselves are only objects and a means to their end.

People who work years, decades, a lifetime at the school, treated like trash. No appreciation for people who dedicate themselves to God's work. Leadership reformation needed.

No real values at the school. Foundation built on secrecy, image, popularity only. Who can outdo the other? Who is better than the other? Constant competition for popularity, social image. Leaders not true leaders. They don't practice what they preach. Little acceptance, tolerance for decent, average person.

I completely disagree with all of the reviews and ratings about St. Joe's on this website. The school atmosphere is one of superiority and conceit. Wealth rules the school, not Catholic or Christian values. A person is only part of the in crowd when they suck up to the wealthy families who control the school. The school was so much better when it was run by the nuns. The current principal is the worst, most dishonest, and dishonorable person ever. The assistant principal is not even a certified administrator, but serves as one. In the past decade, the enrollment at the school has decreased by 50+ students! And, this is a great school? Ask for the standardized test score results of the school. Is it still a failing school, based on stated standards? Run from this school as fast as you can. It is a school of politics only, and politics rule. The welfare, development, and spirituality of the students do not matter. This is not a school that anyone should send their child.

There was once a high achieving school that was a good place to educate children. That was long ago. This school does not measure up any more. Ever wonder how other Catholic schools in the area with 100s of students can close, but this one stays open? One wealthy extended family controls the school and comprises much of the school population at any given time. The school stays open not because it is a good school, but because of the money privately funded by one wealthy extended family to keep it open for their own selfish reasons. All is not as it appears. The school is heavily lacking in Christianity and Catholic values, unless sinfulness is considered such a value.
