  Absolute disgrace Hammett Junior High School is hands down the worst school in Illinois. If you care about your child’s education, safety, or happiness, stay as far away as possible.The school claims to provide a “welcoming and supportive environment,” but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Teachers, who should be guiding and inspiring students, openly mock them instead. Yes, the very people responsible for shaping young minds make fun of their students—it’s disgraceful.Worse yet, the administration allows bullying to thrive. Students get away with harassment, and the staff does little to intervene. Complaints are ignored, and victims are left to fend for themselves. It’s stupid and sick that a school would allow such behavior to go unchecked.Academics are a joke. The school promises “rigorous academic programs,” but the curriculum is outdated, unstructured, and poorly taught. Teachers seem indifferent to their students’ success, and asking for help often results in rude or dismissive responses.The facilities are no better. They call the campus “modern and innovative,” but it’s outdated and neglected. Classrooms are dingy, technology is scarce, and even basic necessities like clean bathrooms are hard to find.The environment is toxic. With unchecked bullying, uncaring staff, and a lack of respect for students, Hammett Junior High creates an atmosphere of negativity and stress.If I could give this school zero stars, I would. Hammett Junior High is beyond repair, and no child should have to endure what happens here. Do not send your child to this school—you’ll regret it. ...More Reviews
