The school district is small so everyone knows each other. My daughter walks into school and everyone says hello to her by name. She has disabilities and has come so far with the dedication of the staff and teachers. My child is so happy when the bus comes in the morning and is excited to learn. The communication between the staff and parents is excellent. I’m so grateful to them and very glad my daughter goes to school here.

Downe is an amazing school! I have 3 children currently there. The smaller class sizes are great. The teachers are great at what they do. They genuinely love their jobs. The Superintendent/principle Mrs. Miller is extraordinarily wonderful. She grew up in the area and knows how things work. She is an asset to the school. The one thing the school lacks is sports. However children are welcomed to other schools to participate.

Our teacher have the utmost concern for our children. Some of them have been dedicated for over 30 years in Down Township. I had put 8 children thru this school in the 80's and now Im putting to more children in this school. From our new principle to the janitores, I belive that we have the best school system in Cumberlan County.
