  I am the Literacy Coach at RD Wood in Millville, NJ. Students at this school come from extreme poverty. At times, we have 96% of our population receive free/reduced lunch. We have a transient population of 56% at times. Despite these desperate conditions, the teachers in this building do a phenomenal job. They go above and beyond daily for their children. They buy clothes for students, attend outside of school activities to support the children and do just about anything to ensure student success. I feel blessed to know these people and feel they do not ever receive the celebration they deserve. I would love the oppurtunity to give them some extra money to buy materials they need for their classrooms that they often purchase with their own money. Too often they provide snacks and extra materials because we can't ask the childen's families for due to their desperate circumstances. Teachers are some of the hardest working peoplein America and should be celebrated for their love and commitment. I hope this money could be utilized to purchase more technology resources for our students. Our students and teachers deserve the best and it would be a great way to show they are apreciated. ...More Reviews
