My experience is bad idk about others but the amount of bullying I see each day is unacceptable I got made fun of because I wore a cheap coat. Also the budget this school has is also unacceptable the teachers have to pay for books with their own cash. But I will say the teachers are trying their best.

First off, the only engagement I’ve ever had with Lakeside is when I force the IEP team and case manager to have a meeting about my kid not having proper supports. My child has been left unattended a few times, has been bullied, beaten in the restrooms, and had horrible experiences even on the bus. They like to boast about their exceptional kids and bullying program, but neither are acceptable. I have contacted principals, teachers, case managers…. And unless you continually follow up with them, you will never hear from them. My child has been emotionally damaged from attending this school. It’s really heartbreaking.

yesterday I received a letter from the attendance office notifying me that my son is being marked absent, this was due to the negligence of his school for not providing the correct forms they needed. He was put on in-house instruction by the school and was provided no paperwork and no hearing to see if this was a justified punishment! This is unacceptable. My son was never given a fair chance. He was sent on in-home instruction with no instructor and no plan for him and now I am penalized for your lack of forethought. I will be notifying my lawyer, our congressmen, and the press he was bullied from the entrance, and nothing was ever done. I will be escalating this matter through the proper channels.

As a student here at lakeside middle, I can tell you this is the worst school that I have ever been to. Our teachers and principal can not control the students, fights drugs and arguments are a daily occurrence and I can never focus because of something going on around me. DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE!!! I can't wait to get out of this place.

My son is in his second year at Lakeside. Though I was skeptical about sending him there bc of all that I have heard about it, I will say we are happy with the school. There are many opportunities provided for the students to participate in the school community and not get in trouble. It's about the choices your child makes. Every teacher we have encountered has been wonderfully supportive of the students and very knowledgeable. The new principal has had a positive effect there for sure.

This school is pretty bad. A lot of the students are bad and do poorly in school. Also the school focuses too much on unimportant stuff. Some teachers are just plain lazy. Not all teachers though ,some do try. Lakeside has a ton of spirit and school pride which is wonderful!

My experience with Lakeside was positive. My son attended 6-8th grade there and was encouraged to do his best, join sports and participate in activities. When he needed extra help his teachers were more than happy to stay after school. If I needed to speak with anyone I had no problem. My son is now in 10th grade and takes advanced classes, I attribute this to the years he sent at Lakeside. My daughter attends 6th grade at Lakeside this school year, and I look forward to the same positive experience. Joining PTO is a must, they support the school and make the kids experience a great one.
