The climate and culture of the school is great. The staff is friendly and the students do what they need to do for the most part.

Our staff and teachers are always willing to help and guide us in the right path. When ever we need a helping hand or a guide we can always depend on our staff and teachers. Our education system is very reliable and helpful. We are always safe and never have worries about being in danger.

My son is a junior in the dual enrollment program and the fact that he can graduate high school with an associate's degree is amazing. I hope more students begin to take advantage of this program because it is a great opportunity. I plan to have my younger children attend West Side so they can participate in this program too.

I am very please with my granddaughter's education experience at West Side. There are plenty of caring teachers that make this an excellent school. The administrative team knows how to handle the students and there are plenty of opportunities for them to be involved in extra curricular activities. She has been going there for 4 years is soon to be a grad in the top 10 of her class.

West Side High School offers many opportunities to my child. My daughter is a Junior and taking college courses in their Dual Enrollment Program. This is an academic cohort that she joined and I am not responsible for paying. She is taking classes with Essex County College and will graduate with both a high school and Associates Degree in Business Administration. The parent contact is great. I get notified twice a month on her progress by either the secretary or the guidance counselor. Supports for success are offered with multiple tutoring programs. My daughter is also on the Student Council and the Ski Club (yes, the kids are going skiing!). My daughter loves the school and the relationships she built with people there. This school has transformed and I highly recommend it.

As You read from the reviews below, Most kids From 2010 and up will say its a bad school, and students before 2010 may say its a decent school with exception from the bad prinicipal they had. But in my opinion, i dont think the school in general is bad, its just the students that acts up. If you look at the student & Teachers tab, then click teachers, you will see that west side has 1058 and thats 20 students per teacher. That is a lot of students per teacher, and i believe some student is not getting the most attention and help that they need. This school could be better, but the reputation is just horrible. The only reason im at west side, is because i moved from another district, and it was to late to apply for another school, so i am here temporary, currently with a 3.0 Average. Then will transffer next year. Not because You're in westside, it gives you a reason to start failing because of the bad reputation. Its really not that bad and if You as a Student apply yourself, you can come out really succesful out of westside. Together We rise, Together we fall, Together w win, Winner Takes all!
