Not sure what the 1 star review is about, I have two students both with gifted IEPs and ADHD and both are on the autism spectrum to boot and Mohawk far out performs most other schools in the greater Pittsburgh area on accommodating special needs. How do I know? Well my children are in several different groups outside of school where I hear how other children with special needs are not accommodated in the least. Top tier schools where they have no emotional support teachers or paraprofessionals for kids, Mohawk does. Where IEPs are used to make the schools life and job easier and not the kids, this is not my experience at Mohawk at all. Me and my husband are newer to the Mohawk Area, we did not go to Mohawk ourselves, and while the smaller nature of the school and community mean there aren’t as many options and opportunities available for classes in the high school they do an excellent job of working with parents to make sure all kids can succeed. Is there the random teacher who might not be able to handle a certain child or issue the best way possible?Absolutely, but you will find this everywhere and I have always found Mohawk schools as a whole, willing to work out any issues with Parents.

Would give zero stars if it were possible. This district is completely incapable of handing any sort of neurodivergent students. My incredibly intelligent son who is gifted and has ADHD has been nothing but a target during his two years here. We have been in countless meetings to attempt to resolve things, only for the teacher to not follow what we agree upon anyway. We won't be returning for the next school year and are having to resort to cyber school because I cannot have my child being treated so poorly.

I went to Mohawk Elementary School and Mohawk JR & SR High School and would not want my child to attend any other school in the district. I believe they have the nicest and best teachers, the best curriculum so I know my child is getting the best education in the area, and is also the safest school so I know I don't have to worry about my child while they are in school. Also besides the great teachers they also have great office employees, great nurse on site all day during school hours. I could continue on and on about how great the Mohawk Elementary and JR and SR High Schools are but just words alone still would not justify and describe how great the Mohawk Schools system really are and why you should send your children there.
