I'm so excited to be a part of the Global family. I have met so many good people here. The Administration and Teachers have a true and genuine love for the well-being of the students and staff.

My child hardly had the same teacher each month. He had no real support and when he was falling behind we were barely notified as parents. We were sold the dream school during the interview as my child is a gifted music producer. It was more of a deep disappointment and I have to live with sending my child there. They had no idea when the results for his Media UAL came through. He was told the pass was worth 3 GCSE’s at grade 3. This left us all distraught, and after questioning this several times discovered it was actually 3 at grade 4. They had no clue!My child has to resit maths and was told to sit a level 2 diploma while doing the retake for a year as level 3 was beyond them…leaving my child feeling deflated with no direction. We decided to forget Global and took them to another college. After assessing the level of music they had already produced and released on dance labels, we were advised to go for level 3 extended diploma which should be easily achievable. All in all, Global Academy did not deliver one thing they promised to start with, left my child feeling deflated and useless, unintelligent and after offering them a place before exam results withdrew it and put them on a waiting list. I would not recommend this school.

My child teachers aren’t respectful, they’re rude when I am communicating about my child concerns. My child is being send it to the school office every to be picked up , when I came to pick him up he seems fine. I don’t know why they always calling about sickness!!!!

Global was perhaps once a good school, but that is no longer the case. My kids did well because we put in a lot of time and effort. All of our kids, and we have three attending, had multiple different teachers throughout the year. The school never communicated why these teachers left and why they continue to change teachers. Retaining the same teachers year to year is something Global struggles with a lot. I don’t know why. Bullying is rampant and teachers and administrators ignore it. Majority of the kids are below standards in math and reading and the school spends the last 3 months of the school year “teaching to the test” instead of just teaching the state standards during the entire year! Still school’s score show that majority of the kids are failing state standards in math, reading and science because this is NOT true learning ( don’t take my word for it go to MDE report card). If you want to have a creative, smart and well-rounded child, do not bring them here. Teachers are seeking conformity and not creativity. Finally, the school keeps parents at an arms length. As a parent, who works from home, I often have a lot of time and would offer to support. I was always received with a no. They have zero respect for Somali parents, and disregard them, even when they bring in important concerns. I am thankful for open enrollment and will be taking my kids elsewhere!

I have had/have 4 kids at this school. Tje educational standards are high and yhe teachers are amazing! My son is in 5th grade and is reading at an 11th grade level. My 11th grader is a Global graduate and the math she learned while she was there jas her in advanced math classes that are college level. She is also taking college level English classes.The admin is amazing. Global staff is like family and I care about them and their families. I will be sending my youngest 2 to Global as well. Thank you for all you do!

I am an 8th grade student. I rated Global Academy a full five-star school especially due to it's great and efficient teaching style. To me, G.A. is a very diverse school and anyone will feel welcome. I get how parents think of this school as an all Somali school, but as a student, I can assure you it is NOTHING like that and it for SURE does not feel as if. I am biracial/mixed ((White, American, African American and Indian (not seen by looking at me), British, etc.)) and do not feel left out in any way (socially and educationally). If I were a parent looking into the school, I would NOT worry about that. I transfered to G.A. in 4th grade and have been there since then, but I am soon to be a proud graduate at G.A. I am outrageously sorrowful that I will be leaving this school and it's greatly rare teaching styles to go on to a high school. I will always remember this school as the best and the greatest experience of my entire life so far.

This school is the best place to work! The administration holds the staff to high expectations and this shows through in the test scores and the wait list. Families do not want to leave the school~that says a lot!

I am a student at Global Academy. I'm also a fifth grader. All teacher are kind in this school. Students rarely act badly and when they do they always heal. I like my gym subject the best because the teacher does fun games that will improve your strength. My teachers help me achieve my high grade and if you don't pass a few tests we go with a helper teacher in the afternoon for extra help with the subject the aren't passing. I really never want to leave and I LOVE it here!! :)

I am a student at Global. I have decent grades and never have too much assignments. This year I am in 5th grade. My teacher is very kind and cares for my learning. We do fabulous activities, tests once a week, and she stays with your level. If you feel like you're not being challenged, all you do is ask for harder math. I've asked to be booted to sixth grade math. Here I am. I'm almost finished with fifth grade, and next year (6th grade) I will doing 7th grade math. That's where I strike. That way, I can learn and achieve more.

I have 4 kids at Global academy from the beginning till the present. We are very lucky to have this school for our children. As someone said in previous comments, because of its high academic, small classes, great and multicultural skilled teachers, respectful/sensitiveness and most importantly its great leadership, Global Academy is like a free private school to us. Yes, my kids are Somali-American but it s NOT true that 98% of the students are Somalis. There are Arabs, Whites, African Americans, and Africans with immigrant parents, Latino though small number, other Asian descent such as Pakistanis, Afghanis, Bangladeshis and others. There is also a great deal of biracial students at Global Academy. This is successful diverse educational institution thanks to its leadership, the director, assistant director, board members and whoever supports it. IT S FIVE STAR SCHOOL!

I have had two children here since its opening, and will be sad to have to put them somewhere else after they reach the max 8th grade. This is private school education at no cost. My children have never been better. There is a NO BULLY motto in effect here and it is for real. The school is friendly and cozy and you would not think it had such great facilities from looking at it because it is tucked away in a mall. It is true that the majority of the students are Somali and Arab, but my kids are neither and they are doing great. It is hard to get into this school and you may have to win a small lottery if you sign up late to get the few remaining spots.
