I had major concerns about this school, due to the reviews. My child is in Kindergarten currently (2021-2022 school year). We love it! She is thriving!! The teacher is accommodating to my child's learning style. Many of the teachers that share a hallway are familiar with my child. All the educators are engaged with the children, whether they are in their class or not. The Librarian has a collection of pets, which offers students new learning experiences. The Principal is engaged and involved daily, greeting the children and parents as they arrive to school. There are many opportunity to be involved in the school environment. It really is what you make of it. I am happy to send my child back for a second year.

My experience with Valleyview has been great, a big part of that is because my child is thriving there. Yes shes had a bad day or two but her education and social growth exceed what I could wish for. I love how the school involves the family in many things beyond conferences. Family fun night, picnics, ice cream social, movie night and track and field are some examples.

Rude staff, they tell you that they will deal with an issue, but they never do. Bullying is a known issue here. My child will not be returning next year or ever again for that matter.

I am posting this as a warning,- valley view is not a place for good kids. All children are treated as if the worst is expected out of them. There are no programs, no opportunities, no encouragement for "good" kids. Steer clear of the PTO. It is a social club of moms trying to "fix" the school, by controlling and sabotaging other parents. Terrible place all around. HUGE BULLYING PROBLEM!!

Some teachers are wonderful people, they care. BUT-This school does have bullying problems (a few teachers, the principal) towards students/parents. The school refuses to listen- they pretend it s just shrugged off in hopes that you go away). A teacher insulted my child out in the hall where no one could witness, later the same day-same teacher said so you have an attitude with me now . I reported this to the school and the district. In the report I listed everything my child told me and that this teacher was bullying (my child was in tears). My child is 9yrs old, how dare a teacher (a grown woman) confront a child like this (how disgraceful). 2weeks later I hear that no action will be taken because this is considered disciplining a child (Insulting Children is Discipline?). For 2weeks I called/ left messages, I received a call back once by the HR person who apparently was doing the investigation (which took two weeks). I received a voice mail telling me the investigation was complete and if I had questions to call the HR person I have called HR a number of times I have not heard back (They Refuse to Call Me Back). This was a good school, not anymore, keep looking...

I am proud to call Valley View our school. We have a culturally diverse community, which reflects how the world is today. The staff and adminitration goes above and beyond in caring for and educating our children. They are always trying to find new ways to improve and are willing to think outside the box. In the fall of 2013, the students will wear uniforms. I think this will create unity in our diverse community and keep the focus on education. I do wish our parent involvement was better, but I am still completely happy with our school.

The only reason this school gets any stars is because of a few specific teachers who truly care about their students. The principal and administration has gotten worse each year my children have been there. They have a huge bully problem and after repeated reports to the school, police and superintendent the bullying by these same children continues. I have stayed here because of the few good teachers however, this will be my last year.

Valley View Elementary is an outstanding school! We strive to offer many wonderful options in our curriculum. Students in grades 3-5 attend a science class taught by a science specialist every other day. Band classes are available for 5th graders. All students have Music, Art and PE for their specialists. We are a Responsive Classroom school, which means we teach a social curriculum in addition to academics, which includes: Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy, and Self-Control. The majority of Valley View staff have a Master's Degree or greater! We are a student centered school!

The teachers are great, they are helpful and let you know what is going on with your child. If you have any questions they take care of your needs and handle any concerns you have.
