My daughter has been at Marburn for 6 years (3rd-8th grade) and our plan is for her to graduate here. It has been life changing for her.

Life-changing. Staff is incredible and so is the school atmosphere.

The school does not take children with dual diagnosis I.e. ADHD/ODD. Don't quite understand as most kids have both yet they don't accept these kids. I'd like to know why.?

I think you parents sending in High schoolers should know Marburn is not what it is advertised to be, maybe the Middle School and lower school (different sections) are as they say it is, but the high school is pretty much the same as a regular school, some teachers do not grant extra time for tests, many students who struggle at general tasks get the cold shoulder from the class room teachers, and they grow every year, making it harder for them to stay up-to-date with every single student. In fact, they having taken away many of the services that made them special, instead of meeting with all of the high school teachers, you just meet with one teacher, One on one help has been degraded to a detention-like study session after school. And a few of the new teachers have changed their grading plans every single quarter (i.e. going from weighted grades to test-centered grades). And one reason why some people may see an increase in their Childs Grades is due to the teachers lenient grading methods. However, it is significantly smaller than most schools, their are great chances to go out and see the world, I went on a ski trip to WV, and all around, it's better than most schools.

My daughter realized her fullest potential for greatness because she was blessed to attend Marburn Academy. She entered the school in fifth grade, after not learning to read in the public school system. By the end of her first year in Marburn, this dyslexic child went from illiteracy to reading on grade level. Marburn Academy is the model for excellence and superiority in education, in every aspect.

My son is a student at Marburn Academy. Everything they do is different, but so are their exceptional students. My son struggled for years in the public schools because they just couldn't teach him the way he learned. At Marburn, he is catching up to grade level for the first time and we are seeing a huge increase in his self-esteem. Everyone at the school cares and works hard to make this school a wonderful place to be.
