This school would rather have a good political outlook than it does about student success. They attempt to push students to progress in negative ways that do not benefit the students mental health.

Justin Gross and Jeff Baker are excellent and enthusiastic leaders. I am so proud of them, and the work they have done to raise the standards at the high school. Building renovations are complete and the result is a beautiful and state-of-the-art place for learning! Teachers have ALWAYS responded to my emails/calls, and are often there after hours. I appreciate the willingness in the district to try new things, and the willingness to "go back" if things don't work as predicted. The school is small enough that students have the chance to participate in band and sports, and coaches have tried to accommodate "dual-sporters." The community is very supportive of any school improvement bond issues- the Josephine Toph Auditorium is a testament to that!! We live on the edge of four school districts, and so far I have been happy that I chose Nevada.

This school is very cliquey and if you are not in the right click you will be easily passed over. As a former student with an over 3.0 GPA average, I decided to attend the local state university. After receiving all my textbooks, I glanced through and was mortified to find Nevada did not prepare me well enough to take university level courses. I dropped out and had to take "high school" level math and english courses at a community college to get me to the point I was ready to enter the local university. This school does have a high amount of extra-curricular activities, but again, if you are not in the right click, do not bother...you will regret participating in these activities.
