Nashville Elementary is a community school and works hard to include parents in the activities of the school. My child has had some awesome teachers!

Another parent of a child with extra needs chiming in. You always hear complaints about lack of parental involvement, but it seems at Nashville they only want to hear from the parent if it is an interaction to benefit them. If you are requesting assistance for your child, or more involvement to help your child excel (not just perform on a basic, satisfactory level) prepare yourself for a fight. I was discouraged for 2 years from requesting a special education evaluation for my child while a doctor, therapist and psychiatrist were all insisting extra assistance was needed. Outside of my own personal complaints about our experiences, I do like that the staff provides a "small community" feel. Many teachers know my child by name. Those who have attempted to help had been wonderful in their efforts. Unfortunately when it is your own child's education it is hard to separate the bad experiences from the whole of the good. In addition, I believe a well-rounded arts program is incredibly important and this school does not have much in the way of performing arts. We have since moved out of Nash county to be able to attend a school that meets our standards and needs.

This school is my neighborhood school and is suppose to be one of the better elementary schools in the district. However I have first-grader and I do not think the teachers are dedicated to teaching your child especially if they need extra help. That's outside of there job responsibilities. The teachers and staff are unprofessional and rude and tend to think they are doing a great job.
