My family just moved from Meridian with our 7 and 5 year old. They were nervous to start at a new school, but it’s been amazing so far. Our son already has more friends than he did at his previous school and I’m impressed with the after school organization of getting all the children to the correct place. We pick our 2 kids up in the back on the neighborhood side and the staff is very diligent about not releasing any child unless their parent is present or they have confirmation they are allowed to walk home. I honestly didn’t know schools did that, but as a parent in today’s age, I appreciate all of the extra steps they take to ensure the safety of our kids. I’ve met the principal a few times and he’s extremely personable and kind. I couldn’t be happier with this school!

My 2 daughters began attending school at Ronald Reagan Elementary last school year. My youngest who was a 1st grader at the time was having much difficulty reading. Her teacher took the initiative to work with her along with a bit of help from us at home and by the end of the school year not only was she able to read if not she exceeded the reading requirement on the state test. All the teachers there are very helpful and work with the students so that they can succeed..

I loved Reagan until the new principal, Vivian Martin, came aboard. A principal should be fair, friendly in nature and have a good demeanor. Children, especially K-5, need a friendly face to lead them. My son is in 1st grade, I've met Vivian a few times and it's such a cold experience. Also, I must say the school seems to be dropping in quality. I had a daughter finish three years there and this year (2014-2015) really seems to be falling in terms of quality. I don't fault my sons teacher, rather I look at this decline as a direct reflection of the principal.

Reagan is a wonderful School. The teachers work very hard to ensure the children receive a wonderful education.
