There is no real discipline and leadership in this school. As a teacher I decided to leave as it was impossible to be one under the current administration particularly the principal who lacks a lot of professionalism and experience.

I highly recommend St. Mary PJP II Schools to parents of Preschool through 8th grade students. The staff and teachers are dedicated to their students and truly care for their well being and success as students. The ratio of students to teachers provides more attention for each individual student. It's an excellent school for Catholic and non-Catholic families. They also provide financial assistance for families who wouldn't otherwise choose a private school.

We have had a child attending St. Mary's school since 1996. 6 have attended through 8th grade and our last 2 are in 4th and 6th grade. We truly appreciate the faith formation, education, and experiences they receive. I am grateful for the small class size, as each child was made to feel special and part of the St. Mary family. The kids are able to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities - boys/girls sports teams starting in 4th grade, student government, volunteer opportunities, Boy and Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls, band, drama club, and more! As the children transitioned to high school, they were all well prepared, made friends easily, joined high school sports teams, and were frequently complimented by high school staff and parents for respect, manners, and work ethic. My kids were no different than others - having challenging teachers, occasional head butting with peers, complaints about uniforms and the "I can't wait to leave ." But looking back now, the kids appreciate the experiences they had, as they were formed in faith and values. My kids are able to attend Mass 3 times weekly as a school family. I know that the sacraments will sustain them. They learn about saints and virtues and are challenged to model them. My kids aren't perfect, but they have learned and felt the power of Mercy and foregiveness. We are grateful for everything St. Mary/Pope John Paul II has to offer. The Christ-centered education is priceless!

I love the small size of the classes. And the school community feels like family. Academics are important but to us developing the whole person is more important and this school does it best.

We absolutely love this school! The teachers and administrative staff are wonderful to work with and are there because they truly have a heart for working with children and forming them not only academically but also in character and virtue.

Our experience has been fantastic, and our kids never want to leave when it is time to dismiss. This school is a true asset to our community and is shaping the lives of our children.

Terrible. The school does not understand bullying. My kindergarten son has been repeatedly bullied via exclusion and social ostracism. He was also threatened and had his lunchbox ripped up. The administration refused to acknowledge the bullying and also to intervene to stop the bullying. Despite being a first hand witness and having damaged property.

My daughter has attended St. Mary school since Kindergarten, and her father and I wouldn't dream of having her attend anywhere else! She gets tons of individualized attention, with care taken to help her deal with her ADHD. The school is extremely family centered. As a parent I'm kept informed on her progress, or of any problems right away. There are lots of ways parents can get involved with the school too? The staff are genuinely loving and caring towards all the students. My daughter excels in several subjects, and the school is great at nurturing those Gifts- keeping her from getting bored, inspiring her creativity! If you want your child to gets lots of individualized, nurturing attention- there is no better place in Muncie for them! I'm so grateful this gem of a school remains available right here! It should be noted that you don't have to be Catholic to attend St. Mary school.

MY THREE CHILDREN ATTENDED ST MARY AND POPE JOHN PAUL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS , K THRU 8TH GRADE. ALL THREE RECEIVED AN EXCELLENT EDUCATION. THE TEACHERS ARE HIGHLY QUALIFIED AND CARE ABOUT EACH CHILD. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS "A" RATED STATE ACCREDITED SCHOOL TO ANY PARENT WHO WANT THEIR CHILDREN TO HAVE SOLID FOUNDATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE.

At both the administrative and middle-school teaching levels, the turnover rate is amazingly high. I pulled our children out of this school primarily because I didn't to be part of a "musical chairs" education.

St. Mary is an excellent school. The teachers are professional, caring, and competent. The school truly is a family, encouraging parental involvement. I know that the parents of my daughter's classmates value education just as I do. The students consistently score high on the ISTEP, and go on to do very well in the local high schools.
