Both my children have had excellent experiences at Briarcliff and I am thankful that they had positive middle school experiences.

Posted January 25, 2016 - a parent I have two students at Briarcliff Middle School. This is an great school. My children have received support and encouraged to strive for excellence. The atmosphere is surprisingly unpretentious with a private school feel. We are very lucky to be in Mountain Lakes.

I have two students at Briarcliff. This is an amazing school with a private school atmosphere. My children have received support and encouragement when needed and just the right amount of striving for excellence. The atmosphere is surprisingly unpretentious. We are lucky to be in Mountain Lakes.

Not sure I get the "not born and raised here" comment since ML tends to be somewhat transient with many professionals moving in and out. Since the school is only open to residents...everyone is a Laker who attends. The academic program is excellent and the proof is in the reports, which consistently rates the HS as one of eth top 5 in the state. With Briarcliff as the feeder you know why. ML is a sports town, however the sports programs really are at the HS. before then it is mainly club teams and recreational playing...of which there are plenty locally. I've lived in several states with a growing family and ML and its schools are the best I have seen anywhere. And no, I am not "rich" although to live in town you must be able to afford a home in the range of $700K-$2 M. For NJ that is almost "middle class"...LOL

The teachers are good, but the social environment is toxic. If they aren't "born and raised" in Mountain Lakes, your kids will have a HORRIBLE time here.
