Horrible high school went here my sophomore year. Only had a couple good teachers, extremely cliquish, especially the Ag department. Most teachers pick favorite, and the students are extremely rude. Do not send your kid here.

A very average school that does nothing spectacular while doing nothing terribly either. One huge drawback is the lack of upper level courses offered. Only two AP courses were offered when I attended (graduated 2017), while there are some dual credit courses offered. If your child is average then Mt. Vernon is a fine school for them. However, if your child is gifted I highly recommend sending them to another school, as Mt. Vernon can not give them the tools other schools can to reach their full potential.

The Mt.Vernon Missouri is my hometown. I have lived here for a many many years and still do and never once have I thought that this school district is terrible. Yeah I was bullied ,wasn't everyone the victim or the bully, yeah the food stinks but you know what this school is amazing and if I had a choice if my parents had to leave because of their work than I would rather live at the boy and girls home because I cannont leave this place. If you think this school isn't good enough for your kids then put them in a different school and don't complain about it. I love Mt.Vernon,MO and I can't wait till I graduate!! Thank you soo much for reading this review and I hope you wrote one too!

I love Mt. Vernon Highschool it's awsome my 9th grade year has been really great of course i hav my ups and downs but thats gonna happen to anyone not all good things come easy im looking foward to the next three years at Mt. Vernon Highschool were determined, spirted, fun, smart, and the teachers and the rest of the staff are amazing im glad I go to MVHS its an amazing school :)
