This school is great as elementary school.

Melzer offers a rich learning environment to more than 480 PreK-5th grade students living in Morton Grove - and offers full-day kindergarten. Like all District 63 schools, it is committed to providing all students with the specific opportunities they need to succeed and thrive, District 63 schools, First Steps preschool, and Expanded Learning after and before school programs foster each child’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth and achievement.

great school. There is a commitment by the staff to create a warm, caring and welcoming learning community where all children can learn and be successful. I couldn't dream of a better learning environment for my children

Overall, a great school with a big PTA involvement. Teachers and staff members are caring and want what s best for the children. A very friendly environment with clean building, smart kids, and involved parents. I wish they would eliminate the multi-age curriculum and revert to the single age group class. More homework should be assigned and better weekly communication between teacher and parent s should be provided. The communication between school administration and home is adequate.

Horrible school! New principals every year & a lot of politics. My daughter was attacked by an unattended student prior to the morning bell INSIDE the school! Did I mentions she was on crutches? We go to St. John Brebuef in Niles now & can see the neglect at Melzer. Review the principal prior to enrollment.
