I went to this school last year, and I can agree with the latest review and say that they’re very unprofessional. The counselor, vice-prinicpal, or none of the school staff know how to handle serious matters, such as a student upset. I do not suggest this school, as it gave me a bad experience when I came. I went to the counselors office when I was upset, and they did NOTHING to attempt to make me feel better or more comfortable with my situation and immediately sent me out so I wouldn’t miss “class time”. That, and some teachers here are just so rude and the school does NOTHING about it. They just say it’s “their style of teaching” but I’ve met so many students who also dislike that teacher and even feel afraid to go to that classroom, yet nothing is done.

Great School. AVID program is a plus. Arts and music programs add to value. My children have all received good preparation here.

Waiting over an hour for a scheduled IEP meeting is ridiculous. I arrived few minutes before to check in. When the principal came out to great me & saw that I was accompanied by two other people ( my child's therapist & assistance ) all of a sudden there's a hold up. When we finally got called in there was a "system down" explanation. Front desk systems seemed fine the whole time we were waiting. It seemed to me that not all staff that was supposed to be present was there so it was a way to kill time. The purpose of an IEP is to benefit the student. Totally opposite of what my child experienced. My child fell into a deep depression! ! What Serrano once label a "defiant" student is now enjoying school, engaged, better spirit, staff loves them, & my child is making great effort. A supporting & compassionate staff truly makes a huge difference
