Eh its ok. Its also highly populated with out of district kids. The school counselor acts as if her personal paycheck is being effected if your child is sick an missed whatever certain amount of days theyre allowed in a year. Not even joking. We have also had issues with bullying, although they have taken it seriously each time, I feel like if they focused more on the out of district kids and putting them back in their district maybe bullying wouldnt be such a problem at this school and that might also positively effect the excessive abscenses as well. As someone who attended hamilton as a child, hamilton def isnt what it used to be.

Hamilton is a wonderful school. The staff are fantastic and really care about students.

Most of our friends either home school or send their kids to a private Christian school, so we have considered those options many times. However, we continue to send our kids to public school because we LOVE Hamilton- the Principal learns the students' names and speaks to them with respect yet authority, the counselor incorporates growth mindset content and promotes an inclusive environment, the teachers communicate regularly with parents, and there is a growing diversity of student cultures.

It's a nice, new building. Class sizes are too large. I think the money spent on all the upgrading could have been better sent on smaller class sizes so the students can have a better learning opportunity. My child's MAP score was never met for a couple years. No of the teachers seemed to worry. It seems that data is used for nothing.

My daughter has went to Hamilton since kindergarten and this year is in John Deere. Although we loved it before it was renovated due to the small community feel, the expansion has offered more opportunities for different styles of learning. We loved every teacher she had and the only complaint is the excessive homework. Not just Monday through Friday but homework was also given the day before breaks (fall winter etc) 3 hours a night was a lot but then having to spend time during the breaks was annoying.

My daughter is currently in 4th grade at Hamilton Elementary and she has excelled every year. Hamilton is a smaller school so the the kids don't get "lost in the crowd" and become just a number :)
