I gave Hart Ransom a 3 star rating because it is neither substantially better or worse than other schools in the area. I could not give it a 5 star rating because of two factors. First, there is no apparent effort made to teach critical thinking skills at the school. Secondly, the school lacks an evidence based school curriculum. I applaud any and all teachers who give their best every day to elevate the knowledge level of our society.

I went here all 9 years possible and graduated not too long ago. It was horrible. Bullying runs rampant and teachers just say nothing about it. Some teachers seem to believe that any mentally disabled children are just dumb. The teachers in charge of the resource room use a “one size fits all” method to attempt to help these children with learning and assignments. The dress code is either way too overly enforced or way to under the enforced there is no in between.

This is one of the most sought after schools in Modesto. Many parents want or wish to send their children to Hart Ransom and for good reason. My husband and I are alumni to this school, which is a big reason why our 2 boys go here. It is one of the best schools in Modesto. My husband and I had a great experience attending this school filled with great memories. Now, we want the same for our boys. We love being apart of this school’s community and would recommend attending to anyone

I have 3 kids at this school and have had them here for 7 years. I have so many positive things to say about Hart Ransom. You get the private school vibe in a public school. I have never had a problem with my kids being bullied. From what I have seen, the teachers and staff do their best. I am a credentialed teacher myself and with that said, there is NO such thing as a perfect school. Hart Ransom had the kids’ best interest at heart. They make school fun and engaging. Most of the teachers I have known want to be there and they work their butts off. I appreciate all the things that they have done for my kids. Can things be tweaked? Sure. Almost anywhere you go that is the case. I look to see if my kids are thriving and are happy where they are. Hart Ransom gives them a safe, positive, learning environment to which they love to attend each year. Thank you teachers and staff for ALL you do!!! Your hard work is NOT under appreciated by my family and me.

This is not a good school. I sent my child to this school thinking it would be a great experience and she would make friends etc.. for 3 straight years all she’s known is bullying and the school all they know how to do is tell the other student to say sorry even if your childs life has been threatened sorry is enough.

I think this school is great but it does need help in the bullying department.

Honestly I read a review here that said they decided against private school because this School is supposed to be amazing.... based on my kids experience and observation I can tell you that it is actually a school you don't really want to send your kids to.... I pulled my child out a year ago because of it. They have excessive bullying and no consequences, teachers feel underpaid so they do the bare minimum, children related to staff seem to be a bit rude and I think it's safe to assume that they are aware that they are "special" and untouchable. I think this school has potential but it seems as if no one cares enough to make the changes necessary.

Bad, terrible, horrible. I regret ever sending my children to this joke of a school.

There is so much that NEEDS to be improved to make this School good again. Every year it gets worse. All kids matter but the troublesome ones need to learn to behave at school.

I was a student here. It was great! I don't know why people are saying all these thing that are negative. It is kind of like when you look up reviews of anything, people feed off the hatred and anger because of one thing that went wrong. When in reality, people don't take into consideration all the good things. I recently learned that if someone only talks about the negative, this is the only thing they can think of and therefore molding opinions of other who don't actually know from first hand experience. My whole has gone here from my great grandma to my nephews. Yes there are a few things that could be tweaked. But it is an overall amazing school! Like at my work we focus on spreading love not hatred toward the company. I think everyone else should do the same.

If you love your children and they are good kids do them a favor and stay AWAY! FAR AWAY from here!! This school is like a fight club that will be supplying McDonald's and Walmart with a lot of new employees in the near future.

Actions speak louder than words and at this school there's a lot of talking but no action being taken. This school gets worse every year and you should clean house get rid of ALL the bullies and keep all the well behaved and the special needs children.

This school needs to set up some standards and have parents with kids with behavior problems sign a contract that says you mess around 3 strikes and you're out.. this school does a really poor job at supervising children. If you have special needs kids at this school Heaven help them because nobody at this terrible school will.

Everybody at this school seems really careless, starting with the principal and everybody else at the district office. If they could change that it would be a good school.

My children attend this school and I have found that they discriminate against children with disabilities and if there is a bullying problem teachers just ignore the problem. The principal is just there to get through the day and not a care in the world about the children etc. She comes off as a mean person that forces a fake smile I often Wonder why people choose to work at schools etc if they dont enjoy working with children.

We have had such a positive school experience at Hart-Ransom. My son was in Kindergarten this past year. He comes home everyday excited and wanting to show me things he has done or tell me something funny his teacher said. At the beginning of the year he was VERY nervous to start 'real school' which made me a very nervous mommy. However his kindergarten teacher, Ms. George, did an amazing job making him feel comfortable in her class. Ms. George was very patient with my boy and now he just loves school. I can't believe how much he has learned. HE READS! We just love HR!!!! We will stay all the way to 8th grade. (they go all the way to 8th, how great is that?!)

This is school is a great school if you are "WHITE" They are very rude and have no compassion for families that are going through a hard time, such as a family with a child that has cancer. They offer no emotional support for siblings and they are not helpful at all. The staff have a very "Snooty" way about them. I will not be sending my child back next year. We own our home and are one street over from being in Paradise school district, but I thought Hart Ransom was going to be a nice school for my child to attend but I was sadly mistaken. We will be attending Paradise next year.
