Ignore the September 2011 review.. My son is currently in 8th grade. It's his first year of attendance since August 2013, he enjoys making new friends. When he enrolled in BVCS for the first time, he was nervous for awhile but he became more confided person. He LOVES field trips. Still, he can do his best in all his classes. Next year, he will be continuing to Big Valley High School. As parents, we both are happily satisfied with the school's safe environments, biblical principles, staff, and sports. BVCS is the highly recommended.

This is a top notch school with high education standards as well as spiritual emphasis that sets a standard that is above the rest. I have two children who have attended since Kindergarten and they LOVE waking up in the morning to get out the door. That in its self speaks volumes.

My son has attended BVCS since preschool and is now going into 5th grade. The quality of this school has beyond exceeded my expectations. The principal is always present and truly knows each and every student by name and has a personal relationship with them. The teaching staff has a vested interest in my child and are always willing to help above and beyond the job description. My son has been challenged academically, morally and spiritually every day of his education there. The staff continually strives to listen to parents and involve them in the decisions of what to improve on in our school. That is something you can't get at a public school! As parents we are encouraged to take a roll in how our child is educated. We have not had a single disappointment with a teacher or program in the 7 years of attendance there. I cannot imagine going anywhere else! New families are always welcomed and even set up with a current Big Valley family to help them get acclimated to the school. We highly recommend Big Valley Christian School!!!

I disagree majorly with the September 2011 review of Big Valley HS. My student has received a rigorous education and is consistently challenged by his teachers and classes. I feel the teachers care about him and his education and encourage him to do his best. They have an expanding AP and Honors program and students are accepted at UC's, CSU's and private colleges with no problems. Additionally, most students are involved in sports so I am unclear as to the sports program comments. We love BVCSH and have not regretted one single day our sons have been there.

As a parent of two graduates of BVCHS, my students were academically prepared to meet the educational challenges of college. The atmosphere is like no other and my students were also spiritually equipped to defend their positions Biblically. Most importantly, the staff is fabulous! The are highly qualified both academically and spiritually. I couldn't imagin sending my "soon to be" high schooler anywhere else.

I enrolled my student here thinking that he would receive a higher quality environment than at a public school in the area. Big Valley in no way impressed me. There are very few courses to choose from. The extracurricular and elective program there is a joke. In addition to this, the teaching staff for the few subjects are unexperienced and inadequate for the tuiton I was paying. The sports program is almost nonexsistant. They barely can scrounge up enough students to fill each team. And what truley upset me, was that my child rarely got any play time. Big Valley also favors the students that belong to families that donate large amounts of money to the school. I do not recommend this school to any parent looking to give their child a well rounded education.
