This school is kinda bad. The lunch sucks, some of the teachers are bad, it's overpriced, they so way too much, and there cheap.

Overall, I love the teachers, they are the best part! Especially when you get to 8th grade, it's the most exciting and fun year. Can't say it's the best school out there but its pretty nice. Some days are happy days and some are not but what you're really there for is to learn.

This school is a great place to send children. Using an effective way to teach, many teachers at this school actually care for their students like so many others don't. The school harbors a nurturing environment full of fun projects and the feeling one could never shake in which he was appreciated. Although the school may be a magnet school, (in which to say, you must keep above 70% in all core subjects along with an accelerated curriculum) it accepts all types of students. Whether they be different race, or disabled, etc. The gym program was made both to be fun for well bodied children, and also acceptable for the nerds. In fact, at Clark Shaw Magnet School, a nerd is a title above the rest. The homework approach is almost unbelievable. Due to the accelerated curriculum, homework is less than it would be at other schools. In which to say, the work is all done during the day giving no reason for homework. Electives, check. Clark Shaw has tons of electives of every sort. Class for board games? Yep. Class for STEM? Yes. Class for forensics? Absolutely! Although a student gets no electives until 7th grade, in 6th grade you still have the option to join the band program. Although I am not in it. From my circle of very close friends I have heard that it is a true music-lovers delight. Now to talk about some less "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Tests. now you students reading this review are quaking... Its not as bad as you think. The max amount of tests a day, is two. Not accounting for pop quizzes. That's OK. If one is used to studying, then they will have no problem, but if one has aced all of their quizzes and tests without studying, they should still be OK. Confused, me too. As one who had never studied I quickly figured out that these teachers give you a little more help than what they seem. Not naming names but some teachers give immensely detailed study guides. Almost if you get to see the test before you take it. Using a schedule where you study no more than five minutes a night you can memorize the facts easily. Also, Kahoots™ which are just fun games disguised as study guides are commonly used for entire class periods to help students memorize their facts. Overall Clark Shaw, is great...- A Thankful Student

I have hated my stay at Clark Magnet. I don't get in trouble or have bad grades, although I miss a lot of days due to asthma, migraines, etc. I have been bullied so badly I would come home crying everyday. The students who bullied me just kept getting warnings and never got in trouble except a few. I was assaulted, also. The teachers are great except a few. Some are lazy and don't like there job apparently. This is my last year at Clark and I am so glad. I wish I had gone to another school, but my zone school would've probably been worse. Next year I am going to a Christian private school, hoping the bullying and bad teachers will be over. I can't wait to leave Clark! Only 2 more quarters left and I'm done. Please take my advice and send your child elsewhere.

It is a great school and it a great learning environment. You have to have a 70 or above. Also every class is advanced. You will never be bored here. So I hope you come out to See and sign on Friday, January 9th and Saturday, January 10th. See you there!

I am very proud that my son attends this school. I feel he is safe and encouraged by the staff. The school is strict but not impossible by any means. My son is happy and proud of his success. If your child is interested in learning you should apply.

Mobile has Magnet Schools. IT DOESN"T MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE, anyone residing in or around Mobile can attend any magnet school as long as they meet the requirements and their application is accepted. The magnet schools then teach at an accelerated level. Once accepted you must maintain a 60% average and cannot be a discipline problem. If you are removed from the program you simply attend your regularly assigned school. Parents are strongly encouraged to be active in their children's education. We monitor progress by talking to our kids and we can check their grades online at any time. We had a rough spot last year in math but between Saturday school and tutoring, the class average came up to 93%. If you are willing to put forth effort and really want to learn, the teachers and staff will do everything they can to help you. My children live for the engineering and robotic classes. The emphasis on engineerng is why Clark was our first choice of magnet school. Other schools emphasize humanities or performing arts, but our kids have always loved taking things apart and seeing how they work. They study harder because they enjoy the lessons. It's not work, it's play!
