I moved to Minooka for the schools. It kinda reminded me of an early Plainfield. Then plainfield became overcrowded in the schools and bussed in low income from other areas. There is a lot of favoritism in the Minooka school system and the surrounding areas as well. Worst decision I made was to move to this school district.

Excellent school with very qualified teachers. Nice and peaceful environment for children to learn and grow.

Good school for my child. Feel supported for non-athletic activities.

We moved to Minooka for the schools. Now, I’d sell my house just to move my kids out of the schools. Seems to be that if you are a “chosen student” be that a parent who has “friends” in the district, or the right athlete, or the high achieving students that require little support, then Minooka is for you. But if your student needs help, happens to have medical issues or things that require a bit extra, then you’re just out of luck and don’t deserve an education. To say that we’re disappointed is an understatement.

Good school with supportive staffs. Well adopted throughout the COVID19 period. Kept my kid safe.

Bullying is out of control and not properly penalized. I told a teacher a kid told me I'm going to hell and the teacher didn't even move me away from him. I've been verbally abused by the boys volleyball team and some of the coaches when I played. Teachers are just as much bullies as students

I would rate this school at a two out of ten only because of the effort that goes into trying to meet guidelines for quality education.

Two of my kids went through this high school, one girl, one boy, but both "high achievers." I was not happy with this school at all. I rated it average because it wasn't awful or anything, but it seems like the overall atmosphere is not very positive. It seems that so much is left to the parents and students to figure out, and that's not always easy. There are some good teachers there for sure, but there are also many that are just AWFUL. My advice would be to get to know someone at the school that you can trust and ask about the teachers. It can make a big difference for your child. Also, I felt like the guidance counselors did LITTLE for the students ... and there is a lot of favoritism there as well. Again, it's an OK school, just not a great vibe of positivity. My daughter was NOT prepared for college, despite being on high honor roll for all quarters of her 4 years and being in NHS.

I would not give this school 1 star but there is not an option for no stars. It is not the experience I was told my sons would receive. Moving out for a better education elsewhere.

We moved here out of state last year and feel our daughter is getting a poor education at the high school.

Actually a at MCHS some people may say that the budget cuts from last year would of hurt us. In all out reality it did not affect us at all. And to be completely honest I feel like the quality of learning has gone up. So if you want to go to an amazing high in a amazing town come to minooka.

I moved to Minooka for the quality education. Now they are making cuts in the High School and eliminating key teachers. I am super disappointed with the school board and would not recommend moving to an over taxed expensive area like Minooka. Especially when they are trying to reduce the quality of the schools.

I am a student at MCHS and i am so happy with that. Teachers, students, principals and other persons are very nice to me and i didn't know any of English when i first started to high school at MCHS and now i am a junior and my English is really improved because of my friends', teachers' and hard works. I am glad I am in this school.

This is my childs first year at Minooka South which has grades 9 & 10. She likes the school and is definitely being challenged in her classes. No problems with the teachers. As a parent I feel my child is getting a very good education that is preparing her for college.

I have had three children attend the school and the amount of racism they experience from other students, teaches, and athletic coaches is extremely disappointing. I regret that they had to experience this type of treatment.
