I went to Minerva Local Schools from K-12. It was a traumatizing experience. MLSD is very much a class based system which is based on who you know. I saw many children get left behind academically due to the fact that no one took an interest in them: I suspect because of their social status. I never felt protected by my teachers, as sexual harassment began in third grade for many girls and nothing was ever done about it. Many of the teachers were inappropriate and the administration historically turns the other cheek. There was fighting and cursing on the playground. Into Junior High and High School the fighting, bullying and drugs were rampant. Perhaps this is typical of school systems. I send my children to private school which is faith based and their experience is completely different. They enjoy school and it is safe there.
