I was concerned to be moving my kid to another school, but I didn't need to be. Great school!

Great school, best school experience my son has had. Like a private school experience in a public school. There is something here for every kid. We are so lucky here in Marshall.

I would rate my experience as negative. Especially with regards to the school's response to bullying. The administration did nothing about many awful cases of bullying that went on while I was in school, and they knew about a lot of them. It seemed like a huge problem among the younger kids after I graduated too. The guidance as far as preparing for college was weak as well. The only redeeming qualities this school had were the teachers. Most of them were quality instructors and a few really went above and beyond to help their students. One of the teachers at this school was an important mentor to me throughout my high school education and helped me more with college readiness than anybody else.

I'm sick of schools ignoring issues until they're huge. The dress code... Wait, is there one? I'm shocked at how kids dress. Pants hanging down, shirts that show stomach. Teach them how to behave at a job, prepare them for being an adult. I learned that my teachers were my future references and to behave like I would at a job. Sad to see how terrible it's gotten and I see little hope for the future. Stop caring so much about test scores and teach them respect and integrity.

Lack of help by staff. Very few staff are helpful. They tell you what you want to hear as a parent but no actions behind those words. If it wasnt so late in the year , id think about switching school districts this year. But i will say my son wont be going to marshall next year. Please do your homework before putting your child in this school district.
