- Submitted by principal on March 25, 2024This is what an elementary school for boys should be - academically demanding but supportive in a way that celebrates and encourages boys. The outstanding faculty teachers and mentors each boy to make use of all his talents and models what it means to be a great person. The liberal arts curriculum emphasizes classic literature and poetry, a hands-on science program, and daily physical education periods. Boys who attend Sparhawk Academy for more than two years are in most cases one year ahead of their peers in math. The craftsmanship program instills confidence by teaching the boys to use power tools to build beautiful objects from wood and stone, as well as painting, culinary arts, farming, and woodsman skills. Classes are small, and each boy has a faculty mentor with whom he meets every few weeks to help him grow intellectually, physically, spiritually, and morally. After Sparhawk Academy boys are accepted by the best high schools in the area.
