I am a parent of two boys who attended Assumption School K-8th grade. I can’t say enough about how much the school has positively impacted and prepared my boys for high school. In our nine years there, my children were continually challenged academically, encouraged in all their interests, and supported in the faith and structure we live at home. Family involvement is a huge part of attending Assumption. The faculty are friendly and wonderful at communicating and addressing any concerns that almost always come with raising elementary and middle school children. Thank you, Assumption School.

My children attended the local public school before moving to Assumption, and it has been a huge improvement in their overall education, self esteem AND happiness. They now love to go to school. My 7yo learned cursive writing in 3 months and breezed into the more traditional curriculum Vs the common core at public. This school encourages a deep respect for the family and builds in the children a sense of community and it shows- kids have friends in every grade! This is much more than just an education.Self awareness, honesty, integrity and ethics are part of their day as well. It’s not even summer vacation yet and they both are looking forward to next year. From the school wide activities to the wonderful, strict but patient and loving teachers, I cannot imagine them at any other place. Thankful for Assumption.

Hello, I am in grade 8 at Assumption School. I really love my school and feel that there is no other school like this out there! My brother and I have been attending this school since 4th and 2nd grade when we came from another catholic school that wasn't the best for us, but we got very lucky when we found AS. The classes are small, but I like that because we can get through lessons quicker with ease and also learn more complicated material that is sometimes higher than our grade levels, yet understandable. Assumption's MAP scores are higher than the national average in every subject we were tested in, so that makes us feel smart I guess lol. Many of the graduates have made it into the schools of their choice, and I am confident that I may be accepted into the school of my choice based on the academics here. The teachers are very nice and friendly and will gladly help you if you are struggling in a subject and they make learning fun. (Yes, even in math) The school had changed so much from 2014, we have a new principal and priest. Every Monday mass is something new and fun. I'm going to miss Assumption School when I leave for high school, but I know I'll be prepared for what is ahead in my academic career.

As our family enters our third year of association with Assumption School I wanted to take this opportunity to share our appreciation for the positive impact the school has had on our children. The challenging curriculum, the many opportunities the school has offered our children to participate in extracurricular activities and the supportive learning environment have greatly contributed to a dramatically improved experience when compared to their previous school. The faculty genuinely cares a great deal for the students and makes a sincere effort to develop well-rounded, thoughtful individuals. Both of our children have made meaningful progress in becoming more independent and responsible as individuals. In addition, all associated with the school consistently exhibit a true sense of pride and confidence in the school’s mission. While we have seen our children excel academically, they have also made many new friends and developed meaningful relationships with their fellow students and value the time they are able to spend with the faculty.

Assumption is like a hidden gem. My son will be starting his 3rd year there and I can't imagine him going anywhere else. Academically it's head and shoulders above the school he came from and so many extra-curricular sports and clubs for him to be involved in socially. He's made some great friends. The staff is wonderful and it's obvious they really care about the children and the school. I am so happy we chose Assumption!

That comment about the middle school was written by one of the girls in my class. I knew her writing right away. What she said is not true!!!! The religion teacher is so nice and knows so much. She teaches social studies too and makes it fun and intresting which could be boring if it was not for her. She has taught me alot about being a good Catholic and to believe in myself. I really like her religion classes. She's one of my favrite teachers and I've learned so much from her. I love her classes!!!!!! And the other teachers in the middle school are good too!!!! You just have to come to Assumption and see. The middle school is awesome. I am going to a really good high school and feel really, really prepared.

It is outstanding to the degree of how much Assumption has changed throughout 2013-2015. The school is unrecognizable. The elementary grades are wonderful while the middle school lacks in existence and professional teaching. The religion teacher thinks "teaching" is sitting in her chair and reading from a book for 50 minutes pretending to know the facts. My child will NOT be prepared for high school from this type of conduct. I am utterly disappointed by this kind of conduct Assumption has put forth and how, under the school's name, can say that they are striving for excellence while the teachers are too exhausted to even teach their students.

Assumption school in 2014 is a wonderful choice for parents. A new principal who has years of administrative experience. A new pastor. It is like a breath of fresh air walking into school now. The atmosphere is happy, welcoming, yet orderly and disciplined. There were issues in different grades in the past regarding social and physical bullying. No more. The principal leads by example and is focused on character and moral development of all ages within the school. Parents can be once again confident in the education received at this school. Academic standards are high and teachers work very hard. Take the time to see your yourself, go to an open house.

My daughter is now a third grader at Assumption School. She has excelled each year, not only as a student, but as a person. Assumption fosters a nurturing environment, committed to education and faith. I am so proud of what an amazing person my child is becoming and feel blessed that we are a part of the assumption family.

We just finished another excellent year. Middle school was an AWESOME experience with really enthusiastic teachers who know their subjects! It's nice to see the kids being challenged and the curriculum being updated. I wouldn't want to see my kids anywhere else!!

I have loved watching my son grow at Assumption. He is given a tough, advanced curriculum that is above and beyond local public schools. The warm and caring teachers take extra steps to ensure every child understands the lessons or gets the help they need. The children respect each other and understand what it means to be a community with a strong sense of social responsibility and accountability. It is sad to see the comments of some of the parents who typed with one hand while a pitchfork was in the other. It s ironic that as a society we are teaching our children about prevention and recognition of bullying and there is a gaggle of parents cyber-bullying the school and its staff. My son continues to receive a great education from caring teachers and that s what matters to me.

Assumption school has changed and not for the better. We are moving our children to another school. It's very sad because we had plans to stay until 8 th grade.

Current administration of the school is incompetent, leading to mass teacher resignations and big decline in enrollment (213 figure currently shown is way high). Neither the headmaster nor principal had experience with school administration prior to coming to Assumption in 2012, and it shows. I am not in a position to comment on the new teachers; I hope they are great, but they have big shoes to fill. My advice to parents who are looking at this school is to speak with MANY parents, and also to consider the news articles appearing in the press shortly after the teachers resigned. Google is your friend. I am a former parent (kids there many years) who has moved on. Assumption has moved on too, with new teachers and new technology, and I hope the school has a great future, but the quality of the administration matters, and until the two current leaders acquire certain skills/traits (organization, responsiveness, some humility owing to their inexperience, better judgment) or are replaced with a better team, don't be surprised if teacher turnover and other measures of dissatisfaction remain high. I do wish the current Assumption community all the best.

As the headmaster of Assumption School I'm proud to say that the long tradition of a quality education continues. We have 5 new and energetic full time teachers along with the 5 returning teachers in grades K, 1, 2, 3, & 5. Anonymous rumors, innuendoes, and accusations are, as always, plentiful. I invite anyone interested in providing their child/ren with a quality Catholic education to visit Assumption School and assess it honestly and personally.

New year and after first marking season, a good time to assess changes. The school has witnessed a much needed positive infusion of technology, 50 new Dell computers added. The middle school now has a dedicated website for homework assignments and to foster team building. An infusion of technology in the middle school classroom across the subjects as well. Very pleased with the curriculum now being aligned with the common core. A small parish based school that is dated in its infrastructure but this is true of all area parochial schools. Weekly mass and service week add to community involvement and values based education.

I agree, not the same school it used to be. Just surprised no one above the principal and priest have noticed the change in teachers and drop in enrollment. Sad, really.

It takes way to long to get a call back about issues with your kids. One kid gets in school suspension while the kid he hit ends up with out of school suspension. Just one thing after another. And they raised tuition this year. It is no longer a place I want my children.
