My daughter is currently in kindergarten and attended last year for pk! My daughter teacher is absolutely amazing and work so well with us through some small issues we have had! We love her teacher!

We recently moved here, and I am very impressed with this school. I am a former educator, and I have noticed that the climate of the school feels warm, inviting, and safe. The office staff at the front are friendly and extremely helpful. My son's kindergarten teacher does a wonderful job keeping parents in the loop with her weekly newsletter. We love Midland Academy, and I look forward to the years my children will spend here.

If yoyr child has autism, or other issues, stay far away. The staff has bad attitudes about everything. Don't expect any help if yoyr child is struggling, tgey terminally ignore phone calls.

I've had nothing but a great experience with this school.

Midland Academy has been a great school for my kids. We've had fantastic teachers who have challenged our children and also cared for them. Front office staff is amazing and always makes me feel welcome. The school has had a Muscogee County teacher of the year and top 10 Muscogee county teacher of the year for three years in a row. Our science team was also one of six schools in our county to earn a spot at the state science Olympiad this year. Test scores are just one tiny factor in a school's effectiveness and this is why I don't consider these ratings a truly accurate way to score a school. Our kids have been positively impacted by their time here.

We have been a part of the Midland Academy family since 2009. All three of my children have had a wonderful experience. We have had teachers that go above and beyond for my kids. Any issues we've ever experienced have been addressed by myself in person with teachers or admin and we have dealt with them in a constructive way.

Never saw the principal, never felt welcome. The teacher and aide were amazing but the administration is a mess.

The control and orderly behavior displayed at the school way outstanding. I enjoyed every visit that I had during the times I had there, the warm smiles, the good mornings, what a wonderful experience I had during the visits at Midland Academy.

My daughter has attended Midland Academy from 2nd grade through 5th grade. We have been more than pleased with every teacher she has had. Communication varies from teacher to teacher but none were lacking. Even though this school scores a 4, it does not reflect the quality of education offered to your child. My child happens to love learning and does her homework without being asked. If she doesn't understand it, she asks for clarification. I know the material for the CRCT's is taught through the school year because she scores Exceeds on nearly all CRCT tests every year. The 4 rating from Great Schools has a lot to do with the CRCT test scores. If your child loves learning they will do just fine in this school. The one thing this school lacks and that is parent participation. I suspect a lot of schools have this problem. PTA attendance is low and getting volunteers for the fall festival was difficult at best.

In order for this school to be an excellent school it takes the support of the parents as well. In looking around in the PTA meetings, there wre not many parents there. Of course, at the school programs, there were not many parents there. My 3 children have attended Midland academy last year and will attend this year as well. Anytime that I had a concern in regards to my children, I never had a problem. Of course, my daughters are excellent and well behaved children. The principal is straight forward and fair. If you were to attend any other school, it would be the same way. Ask your child's teacher how you can assist them so that the classroom environment can be fun and educational. If it is just to print homework for the next day, do it so that the teacher can have more time for your child/dren. The time that you all took to write these negative reviews, that could have been time to help the teacher out. It does not take much to get a child eager to learn except with the help of the parents.

I dont know why the rating has dropped from 8 to 6 within a year. My daughter is in 2nd grade and she has been doing very good. Her teacher Ms. Hardcastle is really very outstanding and very hardworking. Also all my mails to her were always promptly answered. She really has an impact on all students and my child has learn many things from her. I was never forced to do any fundraising. Her other teachers for music,PE, and art were good. There were not much of extracurricular activities for a second graders , maybe the afterschool had some. Overall I had a very good experience here but sad that I have to leave because we are moving from here. All the best to Midland school and thanks to all the teachers and the principal.

Not happy with this school at all. The school is focused on everything but education. Teachers do not communicate with parents much. I had to goto the classroom to find out what they were learning and what texts they were using. This school is far below average. Teachers are uncaring and just go through the motion day-to-day. Their top priority is safety which is good but it's to the point where it's annoying. Very disappointed with this school and we're looking to transfer out kids.

Great principal and Vice Principal but HORRIBLE teachers . The teachers are rude and do not put the children first. They also have social groups and are more worried about each other then the students. My children have gone their for two years glad to see them go to a new school!

My children attended Midland Academy last year. This is a great school if you're not concerned about your child's education, and you enjoy fundraisers. The Principal was extremely rude and unprofessional. My children no longer attend.

I loved this school when we first moved here. The principal, Rocky Wilson, retired and I think this school has gone down since. I do not like the new principal at all. She does not return phone calls or emails and is in general not very friendly. I've had mostly good experiences with the teachers except 5th grade. I have found that the teachers won't have a lot of communication with you unless you contact them first. They are usually pretty good about getting back to you. The Special Ed teacher and Speech teacher are top notch, however. They are the reason I gave the 4 star rating instead of only 3. Mrs. Boutwell goes above and beyond for her speech students. Mrs. Tatum does her best to help out students that aren't in her classroom when asked to.
