The school for middle school is good but when it comes to the High school the school is ok . There’s other magnet schools that are better for HS. Another thing when it comes to who gets it and who doesn’t get in, depend on a lottery but other times also depend on who knows who from that school and you get in easily with out having to worry about anything even if you audition for a particular program or not . I feel most schools have their good and bad teachers . No school is perfect but I can say some school do prepare student better than others and have teachers even if the percentage of their teacher that care is low that want to make sure the kids grow not fail . Lastly for those parents that so don’t know any one to get you easily in the school that is so hard to get in case you don’t get picked in the lottery , don’t loose hope if that’s the school you want for your child but try to apply to other magnet schools that will work out at the end . Overall is an ok school for Hs . Best of luck !

To begin, when I joined this school in the 6th grade, I was a young child with hopes and dreams. But now, I have crippling self doubt that influences all my decisions on a daily basis. The only reason I'm giving this school two stars and not just one is because the student body is the only thing keeping me from losing sanity. Homework in this school is very finicky, just like many teachers' values and attitudes. Most of the teachers I've met give out a moderate amount of homework. However, there are many, and I mean many, that love to suck out the souls of their students by assigning the most homework possible. Many teachers assign an ungodly amount of homework and then get upset when students can't keep up. They will also whine that they have so much work to grade when they are the ones that assigned the amount. The funny thing is most of the time that "important work" is just busy work because teachers are too lazy to provide valuable and engaging class experiences and rather assign pointless I-Ready lessons about sentence structure. Based on my interpretation of these categories, the only people that show true leadership and character are the students. I am thankful that so many of my peers are loud and proud. Despite the oppressive nature of the administration, the students are still standing strong and voicing their opinions. The students learn integrity, compassion, and respect, but not from administration. They learn it from each other.This school makes absolutely no accommodations for students with ANY type of mental illness, learning disability, and anything of that nature. Most of the time, when a students with a learning disability or mental illness go to their teachers or administration to ask for help, the supposed "adults" in the situation completely disregard the mental health of the students suffering and will insist that the students don't need help. They will find any excuse to not take out suffering students from classes that are causing them grief because if they do, the school loses money. And we cant have the school lose money at the expense of the students' wellbeing can't we?This school prides itself on having zero tolerance for bullying when that is further from the truth. When students come to counselors about issues with them being bullied, the school ignores them and refuses to acknowledge that there is an issue. The school cares more about outward appearances than the happiness of their students. It's frankly pathetic. Bye.

My child just started high school here and thus far everything has been impressive; my timid and shy child feels welcomed and supported; the environment, the admin and the teachers all in my and my child's opinion are top-notch. Every meeting and interaction has been positive and supportive. This school is truly amazing and special. So glad we have been accepted here. If I had anything close to this experience when I was in high school am certain I could have been a more productive and ambitious adult!

Just excellent. My son improved in a year math and english skills in a way that he not only he passed his state exams but also was able to choose honor subjects.

Academic wise it's not great school. Some nice teachers that really want to help the kids other teachers have been teaching too long and are tired just waiting to retire. Only there for the paycheck. Principal is great but he needs to get some new teachers that want to put in the effort. School is no longer an A school :(

This school overall is incredible. I'm in the Drama magnet and going into my sophomore year. I came into this school when I was starting at the high school and most of the teachers here are amazing and you ACTUALLY learn. I've made so many awesome friends that I look forward to seeing everyday. Our arts program is out of this world!!!!! No matter which magnet you apply for, I guarantee you'll love it. The administration are extremely nice and care for all the students, and our principal, Dr. Balsera, runs this school pretty well. I'm very happy I chose this school and I wouldn't leave at all. I recommend this school 100%.

My daughter has been at Zelda-Miami Arts Studio for 2 years. I have to say that she loves the school and so do I. Last year her English Teach Ms. Vans (I hope I'm writing that correctly), was so amazing to her students that my daughter would look forward to that class more than anything. She is in Theatre class and absolutely adores Mr and Mrs Garcia. They are strict but so loving and will bend backwards for those kids. She has made such amazing friends from amazing families. The school is kept immaculate. The last day of school which you might think would be chaotic, went by so smoothly you would think it was just a regular day. The new principal Mr. Balsera is great with the kids. My daughter has indicated she plans on staying in this same school until Senior year.

My child has been at Zelda for 2 years and the experience for both our child and as parents has been outstanding! Please do not let the negative reviews affect your school choice. The teachers and administration staff have been excellent. They truly care about each student. The theater drama magnet program has been above and beyond our expectations. The Principal and assistant Vice Prinicpals are very professional and they really care about each student's success. The security is great and it's important knowing that not only are our children safe but they're also getting a great education. Homework is adequate that allows plenty of time for completion. It's important for parents/guardians to take an active role in their child's education. Your voice will be heard if you have any feedback. Get involved when you can - your child will appreciate all that you do as parents. Remember the step from elementary to middle school is a big one, but with the smaller student size of Zelda and the caring teachers and staff you can rest at ease. We are so happy with our decision to send our child to Zelda and you will be too if you and your child enter with a positive attitude. Be sure to ask questions at the orientation, open house, etc. Keep the lines of communication open through out the school year and you'll find this is the BEST middle school in the Kendall area ~ we love Zelda Glazer!!!

If you are coming to this school join the magnet because when you are in the magnet you are going to be benefited greatly. I am a student meaning that I myself am giving you a first hand view at what this school is really like... I am in seventh grade and in the Theater magnet, the teachers are indeed strict but they are strict for a reason and the test scores don't lie. The gifted program will prepare you so that you can go further and now that we are partnered with FIU the sky is the limit with you being able to take college classes. Now we are processing to be a High school with its excellent I can only wait to see how great it can be. Leaning wise you don't have to worry because the teachers will even tho you may not like some they WILL prepare you and make you greater. So I strongly recommend your child or you yourself go to this school.

I do not like how your school treats the students. They're kids not prisoners you don't have to scream at them to tuck in their shirts or give them a detention for forgetting they're IDs really this school is definetly not a great school it's a horrible prison

Our experience at this school has been wonderful. Our child is in the Vocal magnet and we couldn't be happier. From the amazing administration, dedicated teachers and great office staff, the transition from elementary to middle school has been seamless. There are great things happening at this school and we are so excited to be a part of it. Amazing school !

I been on Zelda GlaZer for only 1 year and going to 7th grade. I could say this school is really good. Teachers and administrators are working really hard to serve our community the right way. For that i say thanks to all my school. They had done a great job , now that Mr.Balsera our new principal has done a lot of new things. Teachers are not all that nice but most of them have a good personality. I am happy to be at this great school!

I am a parent. I do like the school because it's new and modern, it also looks very clean. The office staff are very professional and informative. Most teachers are good with some exceptions, of course... nothing is perfect! The administration is just ok. I have been there many times and i have never seen the Principal around, only the Assistant Principals. When you give a complaint, no one seems to care, they don't even return your calls, you have to keep calling until you get their attention... It feels like they don't want to be bothered with parents. It's a shame!

I am very pleased with this school. I like that they are very structured, and well, yes strict. Middle school years are when children usually get into trouble with things like peer pressure and raging hormones and bullying. And although the school can't stop this 100%, I do feel my child is in a safe and appropriate environment. The campus is beautiful and well kept. The office staff is very nice and professional-a pleasant change from typical miami public school offices. My child has advanced classes and I believe she is getting a great education. The teachers are very dedicated and my child is happy with all her classes and teachers, despite the fact she gets a lot of homework. Everyday I pick her up she says her day was "Awesome!". You can't beat that. The school has all the latest technology with computers and smart boards in every class and the new Studio Arts program is a great addition to the school. They have after school clubs and sports to keep the kids learning and interacting with their peers and teachers. I would recommend this school to anyone.
