The principal is a mess like some folks mention and the Gifted program a joke. Years ago “gifted” learners were those that excelled academically and were capable of sitting quietly for instruction. These days, if the kids pass a test, they get in. Many with learning disabilities in the program interrupt the learning environment and engage in bullying. The teachers turn a blind eye and the principal’s response is “everyone’s equal.” Not so. By allowing those mentally/emotionally challenged students who continuously interrupt the learning environment, you’re taking the rights away of those children who do not have these issues. Such a shame. It used to be a good school but it’s headed in the wrong direction.

I gave two stars because the teachers deserve some credit. The vice principal seems more invested in the actual principal. The principal is very unprofessional and extremely rude. Lots of people question how she is able to hold her position. Hot mess express. Should be replaced.

Excellent school, very friendly and proactive staff eager to help children or parents. The teachers are excellent, my daughter's experience regarding this school is good.

I am dissatisfied with this school, at least the Primary Learning center. Unfortunately the security guard is always screaming at the kids every morning in Spanish. They are little kids, and it’s a school not a correctional center. Parents are doing the best we can to follow with school protocol. Classes are overcrowded with limited space.

The Principle at this School is the most unprofessional person in the building should be removed and replaced by the lovely Dr. Lopez.

excellent school!! Both my children attended, Funny thing, they both had different teachers throughout their whole academics but the teachers ended up being perfect for them! One of my children was in gifted, the other was not. Teachers, to name a few who were just outstanding ,,,,,,Perez, Patino, Reyes, Rodriguez, and medina!! The administration, Aguillar and Lopez.... always available and went out of their way to help and answer questions. The school feels like a family, small school, with focus on academics, Hard to find in a big city, I would highly recommend

I can recommend this school because of the effort of some teachers. The Assistant Principal carries all the weight. The principal is not effective.

I left a previous review years ago and I used to love this school. It has definitely gone down hill. THEY NEED TO REMOVE THE PRINCIPAL!

My child hated going to schools the first week. After being in Mrs. Ferdinand's class a few weeks, he loves it. He is learning so much, with her patience and great teaching, he loves learning. Very happy with the school.

Horrible School, I don't like the system. I've had never meet with the principal, I think She never introduced herself. The school is totally abandoned. Not recommend.

My daughter has been attending this school for 2 years. My first experience was not so good but with time that changed. Teachers are great. Mrs, Tassy, a very dedicated friendly teacher who cares for the students, is one of the best. She always has an smile on her face. I give her a five. My daughter is in the gifted program and it works really well. On the downside, I think that activities could beorganized better. Honor Roll Ceremony are not the best. There have been times where classrooms haven't been present when the ceremony started. Sometime kids has to stand because parents were taken their seat. I recommend that they mark students seats and parents apart so student from the same class can seat together. I'm not an active PTA parent due to my scheduled but PTA activities are great. But the best of the best of these school is Mrs. KING. Just seeing her every morning at the school entrance give that feel of security that kids are safe. She always great every parent and students with a " good morning". She is awesome and very friendly. She is an asset to this school. Office staff are okay but could be a little more friendly. We are all busy but a smile is free.

School has many good teachers, the administration is not seem worth valuing them, or to the many parents complaining that the principal does not say hello when passing, does not look professional. School needs painting, maintenance, looks abandoned. It is something that parents look for when choosing a school for their children, more nowadays with the amount of options out there to choose from. I give 5 to the many good teachers that the school has, Mr. Cheney, Ms. Patino, Ms. Rubio, Ms. Bonnin, MS Rodriguez, I can continue on and on, the list is endless. The rest of the school, needed changes.

Happy with some things and not about others..some great teachers, however the principal is not consistantly well-mannered, well-spoken or welcoming. There also seems to be much discontent and miscommunication issues amongst parents and PTA. Overall, as a parent I sense hypocrisy there. This school used to be better but needs improvement. The only positives are the individual teachers, and other school staff that are a valuable asset to the school.

I love this school!! My daughter came from a South America's country and she didn't know any word in English, but there she's learned very lot in just 3 months! Actually, she's been studying there for almost2 years and her FCAT was the best of her class! Specially I recommend teachers as Mr Vidal, Ms Medina, Ms Dupree and Mrs Rubio, for me the best teacher there. I have a PK boy too and he's counting the days to go to his first VPK day in Oliver Hoover, my family and I love this wonderful School!

My son went to this school, started in 2nd grade and graduated in 5th grade. I just want to start off by saying that this school by far has the best teachers., They care so much about each student. They are very supportive and encourage each student to do their best. 3rd grade was probably my best memory. FCAT, FCAT, FCAT, its also about FCAT. My sons 3rd grade teachers from the 1st day of school prepared each student and volunteered to offer extra help if needed. Great teachers! Great Students! Great School!
