BridgePrep Doral requires children to have a solid foundation/probably fluent understanding of Spanish prior to attending. For instance, for the Kindergarten students in which English is the primary language spoken at home, the Spanish class is 100% in Spanish, to include all instructions and all explanations. This made it challenging for my 5-year old to focus and learn as the only child who genuinely does not have Spanish spoken at home. The staff was unwilling to make reasonable accommodations to translate, thus discouraged him from learning. All videos utilized in the class, such as iReady, and videos recommended/provided by the teacher on YouTube, were also 100% in Spanish. The focus is on reading and writing in Spanish, not on learning the language. When my child started having behavioral problems in class, the homeroom teacher assured me that no Spanish was ever spoken in her class. But when my spouse and I attended a ceremony in the classroom, the children were speaking in Spanish and even the teacher responded in Spanish, leaving our child in the dark. My spouse does not speak Spanish and was unable to communicate with the vast majority of the administrative staff. When my son broke his arm at school, my spouse and I were only contacted via cell phone. We do not have cell access at work, and no attempts were made to call our office numbers listed on the emergency contact lists (provided on multiple school documents). Meals: my son is sensitive to food dyes and heavily processed/high fructose corn syrup foods. It causes behavioral problems. I never approved my son to purchase meals at school, only to discover his teacher was allowing him to get breakfast and lunch almost daily. He always arrived to school with a full belly and no time to buy breakfast, yet his teacher allowed the opportunity to eat dessert (Fruit-loops and pancake syrup according to her). When the teacher complained of his behavior, I emphasized that he never receive breakfast, but the practice continued. I was told to pay for the meals on the School Cafe app where I discovered $88 (in 3 months) of charges. We are a military family - this is NOT a military friendly school! We PCSed to the area a week prior to the start of school from out-of-state. By FL state law, service members are granted 30 days to submit the required FL vaccination form. BridgePrep would NOT recognize this exception. The facility does not have windows except for the cafeteria. Recess is 15 min/day.

This school is by far has been the worst school ever. The teachers are not equipped to teach the students. Majority of the teachers are new teachers that do not know how to teach

Unfortunately this was the only school I could get at the time and regret it. I hoped it would get better back when it was a 6/10 but its been downhill year after year and getting accepted to another school has not been easy but finally next year they will be at a 9/10 charter.

The school has a low grade nation wide score. The students isn’t learning. there are new teachers every year, for years. the bullying issues are so bad. there’s no open door policy the admin doesn’t listen to parents concerns. my child is unhappy there. Not a pleasant place to be for 7 hours a day . Low grades

Terrible. The principal does not care for her job or the students well being, is rude and yells at the students.

My years from Kinder to 3rd were great, when Dr.Sanders left.(the former principle) The school kept going down hill. Thankfully I am leaving for my eight grade year this year. I have one year less of BridgePrep. I WOULD NOT recommend BridgePrep to anyone.

Since the new principle and staff came in, this school is the worst! they are never around, only on special events. Rude, unhappy , unhelpful! I'm an easy going person, but I have never experience unprofessionalism. the whole school year was unorganized. the new principle and staff are unfortunately ruining the school.

My son began in Bridgeprep Academy of Greater Miami since they opened their doors. The school is small and this encourages camaraderie among the students. Teachers are enthusiastic and encourage students to give their best. Four different principals have run the school in 6 years. The office staff has also changed often and sometimes this affects the organization of the school. When asked about upcoming activities they don't know the answer and show no interest in giving parents the information requested. In summary, the school is cozy and encourages good values. The academics are good but not rigorous. If you are looking for a school that values community and where volunteer is required this is a good choice.

This school is not good at all. The office staff is not welcoming at all nor the principal. She chooses what parents to greet in the morning and ignores others. They leave the kids homework but do not grade it . Most of the teachers are new and don’t know what they are doing . The teachers themselves are not welcoming. They are asking for money every other week . Just a terrible school .

The school is overall good and do what they can to improve. They always make sure that their students are doing good.

The choir teacher left and the school fired her for a stupid reason. The choir strand was so great until she left. The academics at the school are not so great. The audition is pretty easy, leading to a wide variety of people at the school, for good and bad reasons.

Bridge Prep is a wonderful academy/charter school in Downtown Miami. They require real accountability from students, the teacher, the parents, and the teachers aids. It is refreshing to see an educational k-5 committed to continually making themselves better. We like the facility, the recreation area, and everyone involved with the school, from Carlos the head of security, to the Principal. We would highly recommend this school for parents interested in a real good quaint experience.

I am happy with Bridge Point Academy. My daughter attended a Montessori School for five years, and last year was her first year on a regular learning environment school; Bridge Point has been a great school choice. The teachers are amazing, they have a total devotion to their student's, as well as dedication to their progress.

I have been completely surprised with all the wonderful changes there have been in BridgePrep of Greater Miami this year. New principal, new addition of classrooms and a new after school care director. I have not been able to speak much to the new principal but that aftercare director is totally different than what we are used to. She knows exactly what she's doing. I experienced her helping 20+ parents the first day of school with numerous questions (not only about after care) and she answered them all. When you walk into the new wing to pick up your child from after care, she greets you with a great smile and knows exactly what is going on and where your child is. She is great! I truly recommend after school care with her as the director. Good job BridgePrep. Keep up the good work!!!

So sad to see how many kids left the school being the MAYOR reason the unacceptable management of the Principal. You let go excellent students and did not listen parent praying for help. Let's see what happen this year. Please STOP asking for money that we not see translated in benefits for our kids. Where went last year fundraising's money?
