BEFORE YOU MAKE A DECISION, READ THIS…I was in this school from 2nd to 6th grade and this school offers nothing education-wise. If you want your kid to get ahead, you can forget about that because this school doesn’t even offer advanced classes. Every middle school student has the same schedule depending on their grade. I had to take the same classes as someone with learning difficulties. I’m not saying that theres a problem with people that have learning difficulties but clearly I don’t have such problems and I actually want to learn something that’s new to me. Want your kid to take high school courses in middle school? well forget about it because this school doesn’t even offer that. The amount of students here is saddening. I can’t believe that this school is even running still. You might think it’s a good thing that there’s not that many students but think about it, if this school would be a good school, would there really only be 50 middle schoolers? The reason people send their kids to this school is because its close or theres not a lot of kids. Sadly, theres always a reason behind everything. Don’t make the same mistake my parents did by sending your kid here. They probably will get bullied because all the kids here are horrible. The classes are awfully structured and the principal is awfully childish. We had a vaping incident with a kid and the principal interrogated all the 6th graders without their parents permission. Honestly, you shouldn’t even consider this place a school, just a place where you send your kids. There is no learning aspect in this school and I don’t understand why this school is still running. I understand theres not many jewish schools in florida, but seriously, this isn’t a school to begin with. I recommend you try any other school in the area. Please, if you want your kid to have a good future, dont send them to Ben Gamla.

9 1/2 out of 10 because a 10 would be a high school being built! Best principal ever!!

Since my first encounter with Ben Gamla when my grandaughter was just a small child, I realized that your institution’s philosophy is to care for the emotional wellbeing of the children with much love and care. A loved child will be prepared to learn and gain knowledge anytime and everywhere. Ben Gamla is such a distinguished and unique school, and very much catered to its students as a private school. I whole heartedly thank the Jewish community for this gift of education and love that transcends all religions.

This is our Son's 2nd year attending Ben Gamla Kendall; and we are very happy and grateful we found the school last year when we decided to move to Miami. The whole staff is great, the teachers and Dr. Berman, the Principal are very nurturing and they really care about the students not only about their academics grades, but also their well being and safety, which is a very important aspect these days. Since our son was attending private school before, we were worried about his transition to the public school system, but it was a breeze for him, they are a charter school and we can say by experience that BGK is much better than any private school and it's free :).We love BGK and we can't wait for our little one to start attending

Both of my sons go to Bengamla Kendall. One just started middle school and one started second grade. One of th best decisions I have made was enrolling them in this school. The curriculum is amazing the teachers are always in constant communication with the parents so we’re all on the same page. The administration is top notch. Dr. Berman the principal is always greeting you in the morning and in the afternoon. He is constantly present to make sure he can help with anything you need for our children. Safety Nd teaching the children to be kind and respectful is key. Thank you Bengamla for everything you give my boys they have had honor roll since the beginning of the year. Looking forward to many years to come.Thank youElaine

The school has been a blessing. The teachers have been amazing and both my daughters are very happy with the school. The environment is fantastic. The principal is super involved and goes above and beyond to ensure the total well being of the children . I have really been too happy here . This has been our first year and we love it . They also have a school counselor who is truly excellent. If the child needs someone to talk to the counselor has helped my daughter a lot with some of the emotional issues that she was going through . Both my daughters flourished .

My children will be starting their third year at the school this year. My daughter loved her art teacher last year and my son's favorite teacher was his gifted teacher. Both my children performed in the talent show, which was a great way for the kids to come out of their shell and show their friends what they can do. I'm so pleased that the school encourages all these different ways for children to be successful and happy.

My son was in 6th grade last year. He loved his teachers and felt that they really took time to make sure he learned what they wanted him to learn. He also made some great friends. There was one day when the school brought in a police officer to speak to the kids about cyber-etiquette. My son really liked the police officer and her message. I'm very happy that we chose Ben Gamla.

I have two children in the school. My children's teachers have been great. they reach out almost daily with messages and updates. One of my kids sees the counselor, who is very helpful. The counselor helped my daughter work out some challenges she was going through. Overall, my children and I feel welcomed at the school. That's such a big change from the previous school we were at. I would definitely recommend this school.

I am a parent of two children in this school. My children first started here the 2015-16 school year. I witnessed the changes of the principals all last year and ton of parents leaving the school. Last school year (2015-16) was a success for both my kids. This school year (2016-17) with Dr. Berman was not a success. Although he wasn't the actual principal he was the director and he was the one that you had to deal with for everything. Reading some of the prior comments, the only positive is small student to teacher ratio (I agree). But the real reason why there is such a small count is because this school always has low enrollment. In every PTO meeting we have to brainstorm ways to attract people to the school. Berman has sent out emails to parents offering them hours if we refer someone to the school. That alone speaks volumes. This school is suffering and people are choosing better schools for their children. Due to the fact that we have low enrollment, we do not have funds and everything is outdated. This is something else that was always brought up in PTO meetings. This year they constantly asked for money. My nephew went to this school many years before I sent my children there and at that time enrollment was good. He had 26 students in his class. So believe me if there were enough enrollment the classes would be packed and small students to teacher ratio wouldn't exist.

My granddaughter started school here at Ben Gamla the end of last school year. From the first day, she felt safe and welcomed. Her teacher worked with her mom to help her transition into the classroom. The students made her feel welcomed and she came home the first day saying she had friends. The culture of the school feels like family.

I strongly recommend this school. This school is not your regular neighborhood school and may not be right for everyone. It is a small school, where the parents are very involved. My children are thriving and are happy to go to school - for me that is what counts.

My child has been in this school since the 3rd grade and stayed most of middle school. You would think the amount of students that are in the school, the teachers/administration would notice the bullying that goes on in this school. My child was bullied all year and no one did anything about it. Discipline has always lacked in this school big time. All they do is call the bully to the office and send them back to class over and over again. It is a complete joke. When they say no put downs it's a complete lie. You can bully and get away with it. This school offers nothing at all to benefit your child for high school. Food is terrible. There are so many great schools around this area that I wouldn't be surprised when this one shuts down. This was by far a horrible year with the new administration that offers no support at all unless you threaten to leave the school. Many parents have called the district on this school.

My child was at this school since kindergarten , had a great experience unril 3rd grade new director started summer og last year and made changes, which is great but put a "teacher" that had no experience and kids were failing left and right many were put with another 3rd grade teacher that also has no patience or tolerance to help struggling kids. The cafeteria lady is rude, and hates her job. Office staff is clueless .some good changes were made but over all the school has no funding, is struggling financially has no programs to help or promote kids growth and had no updated technology. The ratings you see is not for this school, this school is under the umbrella of bigger campus up north, which reflect those scores. It was a gem, but not anymore..new administration needed and more modern technology.
