My daughter has gone to this school since 7th grade, and she's enjoyed it. The dress code is strict, except on certain special days which are frequent enough that the kids get to express themselves through fashion. Orchestra is excellent, with a Ph.D in musical arts, and is an excellent music teacher, who challenges his students to learn. There's a very few teachers that my daughter doesn't like, but even then, she still thinks they are good teachers. They don't run their PTO meetings very competently, but few do imho. I've seen reviews about religion or whatever, my daughter hasn't had her religious beliefs questioned not encountered any teacher espousing their beliefs. At the 9th grade, they are assigned a college counselor who will help them start thinking about college and what courses they can take to better prepare themselves to make sure they meet the requirements, as well as getting them to sign up for the classes which will give them college credit. Currently (as of this review) it is a 4 day a week school with fridays off, and on an A/B schedule. My daughter seems to like this, as it means there's more time in each class for learning, and spaced out a day between teaching the same subject. The 'spaced repetition' technique is the best for learning long term, and I think this school is using the right approach to the work day, and having fridays off allows students extra time to do their homework. If she misses a class day, the assignments can be downloaded online, and completed online sometimes as well. It would get 5 stars if they had a cafeteria that would provide a hot meal, as it is now students can purchase things for lunch, but it's not a cafeteria, and there is seating outside to eat, most students bring their lunch.

This school hides behind a facade of building heroes and being if the Golden Rule. In reality they are a vessel for exclusion and indoctrination to the Mormonism. Do not send your kids here

After saying that I would never work at a charter school, I can now say that I love my charter school! Heritage is a great place to work for many reasons. First, I love a 4 day school week. It is so nice to have an extra day without students to do planning, grading, and take care of personal business. Secondly, the parents who have chosen to send their kids to Heritage have already decided to "fight the fight" and hold their kids to a higher standard. We have uniforms and a fairly strict dress code and the parents help us maintain this standard. We are strict about cell phone usage. We teach citizenship every day to help the students to learn about our country and how to be a good citizen. We have high academic standards. The parents support us in all of these things and it shows in how their children act. We are a college prep school with an excellent offering of fine arts classes. We also send interested juniors and seniors to the local tech school for half a day if they are so inclined. I love the size of the school too. Truly, Heritage is a great place to work.

This is the best school in the State! I Love working here. These are the best young people I have ever worked with in my teaching career. Before working at Heritage I was truly afraid of the future and the future of our country. working with these scholars has given me hope. Also this is the best administration I have worked with. My principal and vice principal are the epitome of what great leadership is. My colleagues are all amazing human beings. Also every teacher is highly qualified in their subject areas. I thank the universe everyday that I am given the opportunity to work with the future. These scholars are doing amazing things!

My experience with the school has been very positive. The faculty and administration are very engaged with the students be successful in their pursuits.

It wasn’t the best time. There was definitely a bias taught in the history class, specifically the seniors government class. The required textbook is obviously politically biased and it makes me unhappy to see it. It does have some great teachers and engaging classes, but it’s academically tough. Don’t go if you don’t want to struggle. Also there is little diversity (race, religion, or politics wise). Most students are nice, but I don’t know if it feels racist because I’m not a POC, but it might be lol. It doesn’t have many elective choices but it has some unique ones. Almost everyone there, the staff and students, are Mormon. As someone who isn’t Mormon but knows a lot about it, it is Christian based, subtly, in almost everything.

This is a horrible school from top to bottom. The owner and principal have no business trying to be in education let alone any business trying to run a school. If the ADE went into this school and really investigated what really goes on here they would shut them down. Sped is a mess because the Sped director did not do her job and did not know how to do it. They are out of compliance with that entire department. Academics they have people in classrooms that have no business teaching and are not qualified. A theme that runs rampant in this school is that no one is qualified to be a teacher. There are those few who are, but only very few.

The dual enrollment program at Heritage Academy, combined with the exceptional faculty makes them soar above the other schools out there. My daughter is in her third year here and is on track to get her associate's degree at the same time she graduates from high school. I'm grateful for her hard work and dedication, paired with caring staff who are cheering her on and supporting her. Plus their arts programs are top notch!!

Fabulous! I would recommend anyone to attend Heritage all 6 years. It is a great experience to launch a student into the real world of college and work.

Before this year, my kids loved Heritage. What is now left is not good. I will be pulling all three of my students, and I would advise those considering this school to weigh other options as well. It is no longer what it professes to be.

This school has changed dramatically with the change in leadership. The experience is not what it used to be.

ndThis school is very exclusive. The teachers and students will talk about their beliefs nonstop. Now, if you are LDS, this may not be a huge deal. As someone who is not, however, it is interfering with my learning. It is also misleading in its advertisement. Listing it as a music/arts school when it is very much not. Think twice.

We switched to Heritage a few years ago because our son was bored at the local public Jr High after going to an excelerated charter for elementary. He has an August birthday and we had not started him in kindergarten until he was 6.... so technically he should have been a grade ahead anyway. We approached the administration at the Pulic Jr High about him skipping a grade and they refused.....saying "Why would you take an excelling student and move him up a grade and make him mediocre?" What??!!!! So we took him to take the placement test at Heritage. He did extremely well on that test and was moved up a grade. After 1 WEEK at Heritage he tod us he never wanted to move back to the public school. He is now at the top of his class as a Sophmore and his sister is an 8th grader there. They feel safe and they love the small community. They love learning about the Founding Fathers and about the Constitution. Are younger 2 children will attend here as well! We love it!

I will start by saying we are not LDS, we are non-denominational Christians and are very glad we moved our daughter from the public high school she was in. Yes, this is a right wing school, one reason we like this school. They do put high value in education, another reason. They do have more rules and higher standards, yup another reason. We knew all of this going in and it has been the best decision for our daughter (10th grade). We also have a 6 & 3 yr old and both will attend from 7th -12th. Our only regret is that our 15 yr old did not start here in 7th grade. The staff actually cares about our child and is there as a teacher and protector. Our experience was horrid with public schools, from threats of violence to slander, etc. I now do not worry when the school calls that I am going to hear that my child is at the hospital, police station or worse. Heritage is a small community and we are blessed and thankful to be a part of this community. While our daughter needed time to adjust, going from a free for all environment to an environment that is respectful, honorable, trustworthy & dedicated to excellence takes time. She has adjusted and we all won't have it any other way!!

My husband and I had to pull our kids out of this school after just a couple of months. Be aware that this is indeed a right-wing, L.D.S leaning school and they teach in this direction. If you are L.D.S. then this is probably a good choice for you because they teach directly into your wheelhouse. We are not and our children came home feeling frustrated and left out. I don't know if this teaching is a result of the school or the teachers but there is clearly a religious bend here and open-minded thinking is not an ideal they seem to encourage.

I was hesitant to have my children switch schools, but I am so glad I did. They are in 7th, 8th and 10th grade. My two Jr. High Students absolutely LOVE it. They never had any trouble at the other school, they just were tired of the negative atmosphere and the poor choices that they saw going on around them all day. Although I didn't want to put my kids "in a bubble" one of my son's explained that he didn't want to be in a bubble, he just didn't want to have vulgarity and low standards around him while he was trying to learn. So, I told them we would give Heritage a try. It is wonderful to have them come home so happy and excited to share all about how different it was from their old school. My high school student is having a positive experience as well but does miss some of the freedom's of his old school like cell phones in class, hour long lunch breaks, and long hair. As a parent the lack of those things at Heritage is a plus, not a minus! I was concerned that I would see a drop in my kids grades because they never had a lot of home work at their old schools. They do have more work but I have not heard 1 complaint from them. I am so glad we made the switch.
