My child was enrolled for almost two years after I moved to the area/state in summer and needed a preschool. The first year I felt ok about the teacher. Downsides were the parking lot is always full and a thick thick sheet of ice throughout winter. The security was lax regarding password, door propped open and my sitter never having to show ID when picking up my child. Second year we left early. We had a horrible teacher for maybe a few weeks and to their credit they got rid of her. The second one was someone who already worked there who agreed to do it. She was not friendly in the least but I loved the aides in her classroom. That winter I got a phone call he had fallen off the slide during playground time. I learned he was pushed off by another child. Also they failed to tell me nobody saw it happen. There were a handful of teachers and aides and not one saw it occur. One told me she saw him across the playground holding his arm and upset. He had fallen off the slide a distance away from there. It was a broken arm. I stupidly paid his bills out of pocket X-ray and orthopedic bills until the insurance kicked in. My insurance was smarter than I was. Once I gave them the information they requested on the accident, I paid no more. I should add the turnover was high. My rating is based on 2013-2015. Hope things have changed.

This school is run down, its behind a church. The teachers are not certified teachers. The school bus is very unrealiable. Just because you pay for the bus doesnt mean you will always get it. if you decide to drop your child off, you will never find parking. The school rents out parking spots. The parking lot is dangerous in the winter. The best part is the school shares the parking lot with the mechanic shop next door. The playground is pathetic. Its small and the play equipment is very 1970s. The school needs updating and a good cleaning. They have a high turnover, DO NOT leave your child at this school. The owner is moody. You get what you pay for. If you dont believe this post just visit the school, take a tour and see for yourself. Not Merrick standards at all

This is a great school in Merrick. Nice teacher ,best price and good quality ...My child likes going to the school everyday and likes his teachers and classmates so much. Best choice in this area . A Student's Parent

Love this school!!! I was very uneasy about putting my 2 year old in a f/t program and they have been amazing!! The staff have been there for years which shows that they are vested. Highly recommend!!

Both my kids attended Merokee for a number of years. Some of their teachers are excellent. There is no match to their playground area. Not to say that there is no fault with them - but overall we liked the experience. They have some staffing and management issues that could be improved and summer programs are run more like a glorified day care.

My daughter attended in 2005/2006 and hated her teacher!! I learned that about 3 years ago. Definately not top in the area.
