We love St. Thomas Academy! Our son has attended this school since the 6th grade, and is currently in high school. The school does a wonderful job of educating boys. The boys are academically challenged and encouraged to engage in extra curricular activities.I would definitely recommend this school!

We are currently sending our second son to Saint Thomas Academy and continue to love the school for its fantastic education and, more importantly, for its intangibles such as self-reliance, leadership, respect, values, and accountability. Our sons are different with different interests but both were able to find their community within the school - one with more athletic interests and one with more academic interests. Our oldest son, who is in college, continues to surprise us with his independence and responsibility; he was well-prepared for life beyond high school.

Our son attended public schools (Top 2 district in the state of MN) until 6th grade and started at St Thomas Academy beginning of 7th grade. We could not be happier with St. Thomas and can’t even compare to the quality of education he was getting where he was. I have no doubt that in addition to us doing our jobs as parents that the partnership with STA helps boys develop into men of integrity, values and character. Classes at STA are small and the education is personal. The teachers know their students well and tailor their efforts to individual student needs. Our son has been successful this year while transitioning to a new school due in part, to the support offered at STA. They clearly prepare students for a successful future.We couldn't be happier! Small class sizes, challenging curriculum, character education - all things that we weren't getting at his old public school. It's really amazing to see what kids are capable of when the bar is raised!

This school is great! There is a brotherhood like no other and the staff are like a second family to me. You get a great education and the expectations are high so that you can excel and be your best! You are not just another student you're a part of a team, family and long term friends. I would definitely recommend this school!!

Culture is not very healthy for learning. The school is a dinosaur stuck in old unhealthy views.

This school is truly something special. The bond that you will create with all of your fellow classmates is nothing short of true brotherhood. The teachers really get to know each student, and challenge them individually. The teachers are required to stay in their classrooms from the end of school (2:45) til 3:15, for tutoring, and extracurriculars don't start until 3:30 so that students can attend tutoring. Students are pushed not only as students but as individuals, to develop into manhood and reach their full potential, long after they graduate. The school partners with companies to give graduates internships in their fields, and the experience they need. Because of the all boy environment, there is no 'popular group' and every student can find something they are interested in through sports, clubs and activities; and are pushed to leave their comfort zone and discover who they are as a person. Students come from all over, wisconsin to orono, and from all views and walks of life. If you are worried about tuition, the school gives a ton of grants. I remember reading that about 1/3 of the students have financial aid. I would highly recommend sending your son to STA.

Probably one of the best high schools in the country. Not only does it build character and challenge its students, it is one of the best places for boys to make memorable lasting friendships. If that isn't enough, last year the average ACT score among the graduating class was a 27. That's extremely high for a school average. Most kids receive ample scholarships from colleges as well.
