Had such high hopes for this school. Not sure how things were a few years ago but these days it’s terrible. Disrespect is rampant, the office staff is terrible and lacks any basic knowledge for what’s going on on campus etc, not to mention the head lady in the background running things in the front office is terribly rude and condescending to parents and students. How is this allowed in a Catholic school!? I’m not the only one who has seen this! There seems to be a lack of enforcement of the schools dress code as I have seen many children not wearing the uniform correctly, and hair is out of control, not to mention a personal hygiene standard for some of them. You don’t have to be rich to present a clean and tidy student. Yet there seems to be no enforcement of ANY standards there. At least from what I have seen. Why aren’t parents called and held accountable for the cleanliness and standards of their children? It’s a VERY closed off campus. Not much parent involvement or inclusion on a daily basis. No parent volunteers helping teachers or anyone else. Seems as though they like it that way. The less eyes on campus the better maybe? All I see is a small opportunity for volunteering in the newsletter here and there and it’s not even for anything related to classroom or academics! Who really knows what it’s like behind those doors. I used to volunteer all the time at my child’s public school and it was welcomed and appreciated. Not here! Teachers are minimally trained and some lack a supportive educational background. Very few, if any, aids helping where needed and a ghost of a principal who seems to rarely be on campus. My child says he doesn’t even see her during his day. And where is Fr. John? The main supportive faith representative is also absent! No support for the students it seems and certainly no accountability of the students NOR the teachers about much! What happened to striving to be better? This campus seems to have gotten stagnant and mundane. No school spirit, no pep, no standards and no accountability. Behavior problems not dealt with! I pray that someday soon there’s an intervention and changes are made but I’m skeptical at best. Leadership isn’t for everyone. Sometimes you need to realize you lack what’s needed in a situation and move on. Hoping we get a new principal who has a proactive and positive vision of what this school can really be. For now, stagnant and mundane is what you get, not to mention without standards. Embarrassing.

It started great. Our children started here in first grade and now they are graduating. It was a very structured school under the previous principal (mr Workman). Our experience since Ms Brady became principal has rapidly gotten worse. We wish we would have transferred out 3 years ago.

The school alone gets 3 stars, I think the curriculum is not challenging and they are ill equipped for students with special needs. However, the vibe of the school is warm and loving, a good place to nurture children and I gave another star for the excellent after school care program which is A++.

Great school, great educators, really the best option. Even though my girls are jewish, never was made to feel unwelcomed. Wish they went thru 12th grade. All my children went there for middle school, and I have never regretted the additional burden, the time, the money. The educational value is superior.

The best school ever. We are blessed to have our son at Ascension. Our child learned more, teachers are well experienced and great with kids.

After experiencing the local public schools, we placed our child in Ascension. The school is extremely well run, has excellent teachers, and a staff that will go out of their way to assist. This Catholic based school is the best of the best. You will absolutely love this school.

I am a kid that goes to a public school and my little brother goes to ascension. They push the kids WAY TO HARD compared to a blue ribbon school. My school has very high standards and he still has to do harder work then I did in his grade. Also, one day I came home from 4th grade and he was in 1st grade, I found out we learned the same lesson that day. It also turns out that my father said he learned that lesson in 7th grade! This school also has a number of bullies. My brother comes home everyday saying someone pushed him or verbally abused him and the TEACHERS DIDN'T CARE! Also te amount of homework is crazy! Today he came home and spent 3 hours on his homework! He was super focused I could tell, and still! I suggest NEVER sending you child here till they change.

Ascension Catholic School is an extremely committed and caring community of safety and excellence of academics, athletics, and focus on the arts. The teachers encourage and nurture students to be their best and to work on being outstanding future members of society. I know this because I am a student! The administration is wonderful, with their anti-bullying motives and love towards God. The religious fusion into other subjects is awesome and I couldn't be happier!

My son attended Ascension from PK-8 and is now at Melbourne Central Catholic High School, my daughter has been here since PK and is now going into the 6th grade. My experience with this school has been wonderful. The teachers, principal and administrators are very caring, educated, and just plain awesome and the parents here are very involved. I feel the education my kids are receiving (or received) is above average and well prepares them for high school. I am so happy I chose to send my kids here. It has been a financial sacrifice but worth every penny. I would recommend Ascension to anyone.

What a blessing it is to have such a wonderful school for our children. The principal, staff, and teachers are a group that provides a positive, loving environment in which our children are provided a stellar education. If you have ever considered looking into a Catholic school.... This is it!

I am the parent of a child enrolled at Ascension and i love it! Having recently relocated to Melbourne I was concerned about the quality of education my child would receive at the local parish school. As it turns out I had no reason to fear...this school supercedes my expectations! My child's teachers are phenomenal and she has learned so much in such a short period of time. The school administration and staff are warm and welcoming and my little girl is extremely happy here...I am looking forward to her continuing her education at Ascension.

I'm an Ascension mom and our family couldn't be happier with the quality of this amazing and Christ-centered school. The teachers are incredible and LOVE the children and get them excited about learning. Check out our ITBS scores! The programs that are offered for the kids are outstanding, you won't find anything that compares at any school in Brevard county. The athletic programs, the music program and the SOARIN enrichment program are all wonderful. And the families make the school so welcoming! Mr. Workman is a fantastic principal. He is loving and kind toward the kids, but he is fair and consistent with ALL the children and parents. He will not tolerate bullying or disrespect in any form, and that makes the school a safe and happy place for everybody. If you are interested in giving your children a great education in a loving environment, then you should choose Ascension!

My students are currently enrolled in this school and I can't say enough good things about it. The school has a strong acadmenic program and won't tolerate bullying and bad student conduct. I suspect the disgruntled parents below had to remove their students because of this reason. The school also has an excellent sports and terrific music program, as well as a special program for gifted students. You should visit the school and see for yourself!

What a terrible educational experiance for my child. I highly suggest that anyone who truly wants to see their child excel in academics and moral character STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL! This is supposed to be a Catholic School however they show no Catholic values or virtures. So if you are looking for a strong CATHOLIC education as well as loving caring enviroment, then steer clear of this school.

Ascension used to be a great school to send your children to, but the environment has changed tremendously with the present administration. In all honesty, I could not recommend this school to anyone at this time. There are some excellent and caring teachers at Ascension. It is a shame that the present administration is what it is.
