My child spent 1 school year here and will not be returning for a second. The principle is more interested in protecting her colleagues, then that of her students. A 4th grade teacher thought it appropriate to ask my 9 year old child, if they thought it would be fair if the teacher hit them as a follow up action. I received zero feedback from the principle and the teacher privately apologized to my child after I said I would be going to the newspapers. I hope a staff member sees this. You are all passive aggressive and I find relief in knowing I never have to set foot on that property again.

Literally every time I contact this school with concerns in regards to my special needs child who attends I'm immediately met with disgusting attitude everywhere from the receptionist, to the nurse, the principal becomes very defensive and argumentative if you disagree with her. Some of the teachers take an impatient bullying approach with the students as well as the parents trying to discuss the concerns. In my opinion this school believes they can behave however it is they feel like because it's the only school to choose from depending on where you live.. unless you want to pay an out of state tuition for your child to attend school elsewhere. Interactions are extremely unprofessional and unproductive if you have concerns in regards to your child don't expect anything to be done.

Do NOT bring your kids here. If you have a special needs child, you will have to fight with the district to get them to do what the law requires. Sad. If you have a child being bullied, you'll have to fight with the district to have them even acknowledge the possibility. I find senior administrators within the district morally bankrupt, and uncaring toward kids. This is not a district to be in if you can help it.

Best school in the area! Students who attend MFL Mar Mac have the opportunity to learn from great educators in a safe, clean learning environment. This school is always striving to offer the best curriculum and learning opportunities for each child. Some examples include keeping up with technology advancements (every 9-12 student is provided a laptop to assist with their learning experience while middle school and elementary students have appropriate access in the classrooms), providing opportunities for high schoolers to earn college credit by taking advance classes on-site and offering classroom space at the local Wetlands Center to help students connect with the great outdoors. Additionally, this school has excellent facilities, both for classroom learning experiences, and extra curriculars to include both the athletics and the arts. This school recently built an awesome new weight room/wrestling room complex and music addition. They redid the football field, track and baseball field....and now they are building an auditorium with plans to update the gymnasium and commons area in the next few years.

Very bad school!!! There is too much bullying that happens and the school officials do not do anything to stop it. School is supose to be a fun experience, not at this school.

Turn around and run!!!! The special educational department is terrible. My daughter was @ grade level and is now three grades behind after one year. This is the worse school that I have seen in the state of Iowa.
