Worst school I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. My children's experience here has been terrible. My son has a learning disability, which they have gone out of there way to marginalize. According to his IEP (derived by them), he only qualifies for about 7% extra help, and believe me, they make sure that is all he gets. Imagine being told that your child isn't impaired ENOUGH to need anymore than 7% extra help. How can a number be used to describe a DISABILITY?If your child does not qualify for an IEP, you're out of luck. You will be told that there is not enough staff to give special attention, which is interesting considering that the school is extremely small, and there seem to be many adults lumbering around the building. When I say small I mean small, to the point where there are combined classrooms, as in two grades per class! That should make this a great school, but it does not lend to its quality at all. When asked by people in neighboring towns if this is a good school, I cannot say yes with a straight face. This is without even mentioning the staff, and leadership at this school. Without naming names (because they know who they are), the vast majority of them are insincere, condescending, and rude. When I tried to transfer my children to a different school, the inter-district transfer was very hardily, and laughingly, denied! It's really a shame, because this school has the potential to be good, but as long as it is ran the way that it is, and by who it is, it will continue to be less than what it should be -- a healthy, nurturing, learning environment for children.

Overall this school is great. The new teachers and staff have brought life back into this school. I have not noticed a bullying problem what so ever. The school also provides a ton of extra curricular activities, like the SAFE after school program, skiing program, team sports, and many yearly field trips. I think this is a great school for the residents of McCloud!

There is a very big bullying problem and the staff is not concerned. They say they are and watch out for a little while, but it starts up again. There are also teachers that don't follow the IEP for special ed students. I also personally know of over 20 students that have moved out of town or go to another in another city to go to school. The school could improve with new administration and staff.
