What kind of institution would allow a child, ANY child, to be stabbed and beaten and harassed and do NOTHING about it. Avoid this school of you value your child's safety.

This is a great school and it is only getting better with the new principal. Not sure why some people had negative reviews. Maybe it was one person with a grudge. I have been in some difficult schools before and this is not one of them. The children learn a lot and the after school clubs and activities are getting better every year.

Lloyd road is a school where kids are treated like livestock! Lloyd Road School is where students graduating from 3 different elementary schools; (Strathmore, Ravine Drive, and Cliffwood) collide for 2 years to be pushed through 4th and 5th grade with little care. The students are unruly, and totally disruptive to the point of preventing others from learning at all. The teachers have zero control, so resort to screaming at the top of their lungs for the children to “Shut up”, and “I’m sick of it.” I hear stories often that shock me about the rude behavior of teachers when children cry or are hurt. They have said things such as “Stop crying unless it is a life or death situation!” The lunch aides stand by at recess and do NOTHING while boys run down girls, and slap them on their behinds. They say nothing when kids play demeaning “Slave” games, and round up all the African American kids in a group and not let them out of a certain area. Kids are not allowed to use the restrooms depending on teachers’ moods on any given day. This place should be investigated, and all the abusive staff removed. The things I hear from the children attending this school are too numerous to list, and horrendous. Advice to parents, if your children have to go here make them bring in video recording devices for their own protection. This place is a top news story just waiting to happen.

My child hates this school. She tells me almost daily how the teachers yell at the students to "shut up and other rude remarks." In her words the teachers are loud bullies . Her classmates say the same. What they tell me each day about the teachers behaviors is shocking and unprofessional.

Lloyd Road is a terrible school. Staff is extremely unprofessional and unorganized. Some teachers exhibit very nasty behavior to the students. Teachers cannot control their classes especially the ones that commingle the smart kids with the kids with behavior issues. The kids who want to learn are easily distracted. Very poor teaching skills. I would not recommend this school at all.

I was trying to stay very positive when dealing with this school but my experience just kept getting worse and worse. The communication is terrible. Even worse since they are trying to save money and go paperless. The teachers are great but will not tell you anything because it will impact their jobs. They want to be on the students side but their ultimate loyalty is to their job not your child. I have a struggling learner. The Child Study Team did everything in their power to avoid helping my child. There wee a lot of unethical choices made. They sent me in circles for over a year and a half and try to make you so exhausted you give up on helping your child succeed. The Principal did not reach out to me once though everythjng, although he was cc on numerous emails. There is so much turnover that no one knows what they are doing. Transportation is a mess, The Special Ed Director that was finally able to help me quit it was so bad. If you are moving I suggest you choose a different District if you actually care about what your kids are learning and want cooperation and communication. I'd choose carefully before you get invested in a community and your child makes roots.

I am happy with the school and the new programs. Great new principal in Lloyd Rd. School and New Principal in Middle school. Also with new Superintendent maybe more good things are ahead. After school homework club in 4th and 5th grades has been wonderful for parents and kids seem to love it too. The special needs parent group is awesome. The district is really a great environment for all kids.

After reading the earlier reviews I was very nervous about my child attending Lloyd Road School. Thankfully my daughter is absolutely THRIVING at LRS. Her teachers are warm and caring individuals who challenge her intellectually. I could not be more pleased with the school.

Sadly, I completely agree with the review below. Our experience at Lloyd Road School has been terrible. It is disorganized and dysfunctional from the top down. The building is clean and well maintained.

Lloyd rd. Is awash with some of the most incompetent leadership I have ever seen. Communication is lacking from the teachers as well as the administration. They talk down to parents and students alike. Two terrible years here. Two stars for a well maintained building.
