Teachers care for all students and go out of their way to ensure the best learning experiences for all. Administration focuses on growth year after year and it shows through the dedication of all staff. Students are respectful and there are little to no major issues.

Special education is something they "don't have time for" which creates bigger issues. At first I thought I was overreacting but it's sad when the teacher says she sent him to class because she didn't have time to deal with things. They do as little as possible but when the child acts up out of frustration you can bet they're quick to punish and remove the child from peers without any concerns about the base problem or helping the child learn. I had one child struggle through there and my second one I am removing 3 months in because he deserves better. The problems go right to the top of the district.

The principal referenced in the previous reviews is no longer employed by the district. The current principal is very inexperienced, but at least she doesn't bully students, staff, and parents, like the previous one. The staff there contains some fantastic teachers (2 with national board certifications, 2 Crystal Apple Award finalists) and some not-so fantastic teachers. However, the place still functions as a "holding tank" for kids until they can escape to the high school.

Principal allows the students to name call, swear and bully other students. Even when it is called to his attention, he does nothing about the situation. Schools are always saying they need parents to back them up, but schools also have a responsibility to not let students get away with things at school that they are not allowed to do at home.
