I cannot say enough good things about this school. The principal is phenomenal! She knows every student by name and cares for them deeply. She goes above and beyond advocating for the students, even after they have moved onto middle school. The staff, from the secretary to the nurse to the janitor, also know all the students and provide a warm and welcoming environment for students and parents alike. The teachers work hard to provide individualized education for the students. They are easily reached and communicate well to resolve any problems that may arise. The test scores are high, showing the academic quality of the school. I'm a very critical person when it comes to filling out evaluations and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this school. Absolutely amazing!

For several years, Marine Elementary School has obtained the highest scores on the Illinois State Academic Test (ISAT) within our school district, as well as comparisons with all other elementary schools within Madison County, Illinois. The 2012-13 school year was the first year for some time that Marine Elementary did not receive this status, though the scores were still extremely high. The teachers and staff teach students, not only subject matter. This is a very close-knit school, perhaps because of the smaller student enrollment as well as the superb communication between parents, teachers/administrators and students.
