Not a good experience...school seems very favorable over new students or students that need extra suppory..Teaching style could be different as well

If you have a special need child at this school, you need to pay special attention. IEP is not individualized, high functioning special kids is treated like same, parents don’t have a say. they do not challenge the kids. They only care for the school and school budget

Teachers did a very good job teaching and engaging the children

Disappointed in the scoring and process for qualifying AC students. Medical issues like ADHD seem to hinder students if they don’t have a preexisting 504. The communication home from teachers is never personalized. Everything is mass email from CTLS. Last year I never heard any concerns for my child until placement was discussed this year.

Excellent parental involvement & PTA. My kid loves their Target program!

I am very happy with the school overall. I agree that the curriculum could be more challenging for students that are advanced. The work that my son did in kindergarten was work that he already learned in private pre-K. Be prepared to supplement your own teaching at home to challenge your child if they are not being challenged in the classroom. Teaching shouldn't end when your child leaves school. It's up to you as a parent to reinforce what is learned in school and to stimulate your child intellectually at home.

Can't say enough about how much this school means to our family. The balance of diversity is wonderful. The school encourages community involvement, provides multiple opportunities to learn and grow in different ways. Kids of all levels of academic strengths and weaknesses are challenged at their individual level. And the teachers truly love what they do.

My oldest is in middle school now and my youngest is in 4th grade. I can only say good things about this school. Most of the teachers my both kids had were amazing, the target program (gifted) is strong and the atmosphere is great. My oldest had an IEP (he's in the spectrum for autism) until 4th grade. He had a lot of support from both staff and teachers. Once he was in fifth grade he got asked to join the gifted program and he now excels in all his AC classes in 7th grade. My 4th grader is also in the gifted program and has AC math and reading. and I believe she gets challenged and also gets the chance to develop her own logic and not only to a test like most schools do. Also the parents are very involved with the school, which helps making CHES so great.

We have really enjoyed sending our 2 kids to CH. The teachers and staff are great. The school offers many activities throughout the year to bring the community together.

Teaches the basics, but won't challenge higher achievers. My 1st grade daughter was doing higher level work in kindergarten than she got to in an entire year of 1st grade. Administration was little help. If you child is below average, they do a good job.

The administration at Cheatham Hill is fantastic, as are all of the teachers my children have had so far. Any time we've had an issue, it's been addressed quickly and effectively. The school is diverse, so the parent involvement is not as high as I'd like, but the ones that do participate are very invested and effective.

I agree first grade teachers are horrible. I have made complaints and nothing is ever done. Definitely a miss for me...overrated.

This year has been terrible! I am not impressed with the first grade teacher my son has. She singles out certain students and is very condescending and inconsistent I could go and on but I won t. The administration is the same way and it s no wonder the teacher (s) act is if they are above the law . Very discouraging .

I have had three kids at this school and I currently have two that are still there. I love this school! We have had a few issues with teachers but once I either addressed it with the teacher directly or the administration the issues were always taken seriously and addressed properly. The main thing is that my kids absolutely love the school and that means more than anything,.

As you can tell by the reviews this school is hit or miss. You either get the great teachers or the horrible ones. It has both.

Have 3 kids who attended and impressed with the quality of teachers Cheatham Hill attracts. Good, fair administration. Well run school!
