Horrible school don’t go if you want to get beaten down I’m being so serious like it’s terrible and I go here and the teachers don’t care about you and want you to fail at doing work they don’t turn in the grades for you doing your work

I am a retired Michigan teacher who occasionally enjoys substitute teaches at my neighborhood’s Desert Wind Middle School. I love to see the positive relationships between staff and students in this building and sometimes I am lucky enough to be in the same classroom to see student’s academic and social growth from the beginning of the school year to the end.

Terrible Principal (Aidan Balt) who doesn't care about doing what's right. Do not allow your child to go to this school, homeschool them before letting that happen.

At this school there are a lot of fight then there was before and i think it was better before but now i has gone down hill a lot of the teacher dont care about putting in grades and some teachers don’t understand how to put their students feeling in Consideration for example if a student doesn’t understand somthing the teacher will say its not confusing but to the student it is confusing but to the teacher it isnt. so i think some of the teachers should get rewards the care more about the students other than that it is a good school

i go to this school it's a good school but some of the teachers do stuff that does not help the kid they either call the parent or call it harassment and that is really messed up. so the school is good when it wants to be, but overall, the school is fun.

I would not recommend this school to and for ANYONE'S child. Me being a student who goes there experiences; bullying, harassment, and many more things. Students smoke in the bathrooms and sometimes even outside the bathrooms, there are 6th graders performing sexual activity, there's bullying, fights everyday, weird teachers. And when I mean weird teachers, they're either looking at you sexually or just staring at you with an attitude. The whole school district is corrupted.

The Blended Learning Program at DWMS is the best! My child is receiving a wonderful education, not just teaching to the test. The 2 teachers that started Blended Learning over there are terrific and innovative in their teaching style. The whole school is safe and secure and the teachers in general really care about the students and love their job.

My student attends Desert Wind and I found that the group work and participation in 20+1 made a big difference. The new Principal is making good changes. The teachers communicate a lot. But I went to Conferences and not a lot of parents came, I thought there would be more?

We are new to the community. Our kids come from TOP schools in the country. They have always been in honor roll (A+). I was hesitant to send them to the schools in Maricopa, but so far it has been good. Teachers listen and react in a timely manner to our concerns. The material covered until this point has not been challenging for my kids so we are still waiting for more material to come to them. The school has great potential and I cannot wait for my kids to contribute to the goals of the school to make it the best in the district. Parents do need to get involved in order to make this happen. Support the teacher and the school goals.
